The venue consists of three main themed areas: the aquarium zone, ocean theater and marine science center. Spanning over 20,000 square meters, it houses tens of thousands of tons of water and nurtures hundreds of species totaling tens of thousands of marine creatures, from sand tiger sharks and rays to penguins, seals and walruses, offering an exceptionally dense concentration of attractions. With a total water capacity of 10,800 tons, it ranks among the world's top 10 aquariums. The facility displays 48,000 marine creatures, including six dolphins, giant sharks and 10,000 red snappers. The aquarium has three floors in total, with one basement level and two above-ground levels. Travelers enter through the second-floor entrance. The second floor recreates scenes of "Jeju Island and the five oceans"—the Arctic, Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Southern Oceans—and displays representative species from each ocean. The first floor's theme is "A magical encounter between the ocean and the jungle," where visitors can observe creatures like seals and penguins in three-dimensional displays. Inside, dense trees and jungle create a refreshing scenery. Additionally, the "Ocean adventure" zone offers visitors the chance to experience tropical rainforest exploration. The first floor also features a touch pool where children can reach in after their "Ocean adventure" to interact up close with marine life such as magpies, sharks, conches, and starfish. The basement level features the main pool, known as the "3D (IMAX) ocean" of Aqua Planet Jeju. This pool, referred to as the "ocean of Jeju Island," measures 23 m in length and 8.5 m in height, taking a full two weeks to fill. The breathtaking view makes visitors feel as if they are in a 3D movie. To better withstand the immense water pressure, the pool is made of 60 cm-thick acrylic panels, with a reported construction cost of approx. 10 billion KRW. △Fantasy world. Udo

4.7/5
1.9k reviews
Udo, known by various names such as Coral Island, Haenyeo Island, and Lighthouse Island, is a small island located in the eastern part of Jeju. The island is shaped like a lying cow, hence the name Udo, which means "Cow Island." Apart from the parasitic volcano Udobong of Hallasan, the island is generally flat, with steep cliffs where it meets the sea. 80% of the filming for Jeon Do-yeon's "My Mother, the Mermaid" took place on Udo. Choi Ji-woo's "Now and Forever" and Jun Ji-hyun's "Il Mare" also featured scenes shot on Udo, making it one of Jeju's representative tourist attractions. The peak standing on the flat land of Udo is Udobong. Its unique height offers a panoramic view of Udo and even a glimpse of Seongsan Ilchulbong. Climbing up the slope along the fence to the top, you arrive at the white lighthouse. The path connecting the lawn and the reed field seems more charming than the view from the top of the lighthouse. A few cows scattered among the bushes remind visitors of the island's name. Unknown wildflowers sway in the wind, creating a romantic scene akin to a lyrical poem. There are also miniature models of lighthouses such as the Sokcho Lighthouse and the Pagoda Lighthouse on display here. The path to the lighthouse is quite steep, making it unsuitable for the elderly or infirm to climb. Additionally, "Udo Eight Views" are the representative landscapes of Udo, including four pairs of scenes: Day and Night (Daytime Moon, Night Fishing Sails), Heaven and Earth (Tianjin Mountain View, Dito Green Sand), Front and Back (Front Port Island View, Back Sea Cliff), East and West (East Coast Whale Cave, West Beach White Sand). The Back Sea Cliff and East Coast Whale Cave, part of the Udo Eight Views, are located under the towering Udobong. The Back Sea Cliff is 20 meters high and 30 meters wide, surrounding the Black Sand Beach, famous for its black sand. The East Coast Whale Cave, located at the end of the beach, is one of Udo's famous caves, named for its capacity to hold eastern whales, also known as "Nose Cave." The entrance to the East Coast Whale Cave is visible only at low tide. Enjoying the outside sky and sea view from inside the cave offers a unique experience.Jeju City · 39.2km from downtown

Ecoland is a large eco-park on Jeju Island with a train travel theme, connecting four themed areas via miniature trains. The park consists of five stations: Main Station, Eco Bridge Area, Lakeside Station, Picnic Garden Station, and Lavender, Green Tea & Rose Garden Station. Main station The Eco Garden Terminal, shaped like a donut, serves as both the starting point and final stop for the Eco Paradise trains. It features various facilities including a ticket office, waiting room, fast food restaurant, dining area, and souvenir shop, along with a central fountain plaza. Ecological Corridor Area The eco-corridor features a 300m water terrace along the 20,000-pyeong lakeshore, creating a unique walking path that makes you feel like strolling on water. Hike to the next stop while admiring views of the island in the lake, then relax at the waterside café for a leisurely break. Lakeside Station Lakeside Station is built on former horse-grazing pastures, featuring a stunning blue lake formed from the original terrain, along with a windmill and the exotic Discovery Kingdom. From the historical observation deck, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the station. The newly opened Discovery Kingdom in 2013 combines sand dunes and an exploration ship, creating a space beloved by children and couples who enjoy photo opportunities. Outing Garden A spacious golden lawn where you can fully enjoy the pleasures of an outing. This station features a children's play area for kids and an eco-trail that offers unique experiences only found in ecological parks. Lavender, Green Tea & Rose Garden Station Opened to the public in 2013, visitors crossing the Garden Bridge after disembarking the train are greeted by a European-style garden featuring aromatic herbs, roses, and green tea. Woljeongri Beach is located on the coastline of northeastern Jeju Island, known for its fine white sand and clear, light turquoise water. The nearshore water is shallow and the waves are gentle, making it incredibly pleasant to take off your shoes and stroll through the surf. Looking out at the sea, a row of white wind turbines stands in the distance, creating a highly recognizable backdrop. The colorful chairs lined up on the beach facing the ocean are a popular photo spot. On sunny days, the water is crystal-clear, making every shot picture-perfect. It is also a well-known spot on Jeju Island for watching the sunrise; in the early morning, photography enthusiasts often wait on the beach for the sun to rise above the horizon. In the summer, you can also see visitors surfing and kayaking. Drying squid is also a unique fishing village scene here, with rows of squid slowly air-drying in the sea breeze, adding a touch of local charm. Along the coastal road behind the beach, there is a row of charming cafes. Many shops feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows facing the ocean, where you can order a coffee and simply relax while gazing out at the sea.Jeju City · 25.3km from downtown

Hamdeok Beach is located in the northeastern part of Jeju Island. Due to its proximity to Seoubong Peak, it is also known as Hamdeok Beach. It is famous for its white sandy beach and emerald-colored water, and is known as the Maldives of South Korea, making it one of the representative beaches on Jeju Island. Tall palm trees at the entrance sway in the sea breeze, and the water is so clear that you can see the sand and seaweed on the seabed. The water is shallow and the sand is fine, making it suitable for swimming and family-friendly water play. There is an offshore boardwalk on the west side of the beach, where you can stroll and enjoy the ocean view. The white lighthouse on the basalt coast guides fishing boats and is also a great place to watch the sunset. Nearby Seoubong Peak is covered with golden canola flowers in spring and is lush green in summer. You can hike to the top along the trail to overlook the entire bay, and on clear days, you can even see Hallasan National Park in the distance. The ocean-facing lawn nearby is suitable for picnics and relaxation. Jeju Olle Trail Route 19 passes through here, allowing visitors to hike along the coast or experience activities such as surfing, jet skiing, and banana boating. There is also a pet-friendly beach area, making it convenient for visitors to bring their dogs to enjoy the water. Even if you don't participate in water activities, you can take a walk along the coast, splash in the waves, enjoy the sunset, and experience the coastal scenery of Jeju Island.Jeju City · 13.7km from downtown

Teddy Bear Museum

Teddy Bear Museum showcases the century-old teddy bear culture, featuring limited-edition teddy bears from around the world. This visual feast transports visitors back to the innocence of childhood. The museum is located at the entrance of Jungmun Tourist Area in Seogwipo. As soon as you enter, you'll be greeted by a pair of teddy bear newlyweds bowing in welcome. The murals near the entrance all feature teddy bear themes, with some showcasing the rich history of teddy bears. We recommend taking time to appreciate these before exploring further. The museum is divided into indoor and outdoor sections. The indoor area mainly consists of the History Hall on the 1st floor, showcasing major historical events featuring teddy bears from their creation 100 years ago to the present. This includes large-scale historical scenes with teddy bears, antique-style teddy bears, and teddy bears depicting historical figures. Visitors can see teddy bear recreations of significant events like Hong Kong's handover, the Terracotta Army, the moon landing, D-Day, the Titanic, the Berlin Wall, and the opening of Disneyland. The 2nd floor Art Gallery displays teddy bears used in the Korean drama "Princess Hours," a teddy bear adorned with 125-carat gemstones, and a Louis Vuitton teddy bear worth approximately ¥1.3 million. The outdoor exhibition hall is Teddy Lin Theme Park. Here you'll find a round plaza recreating 1950s Pontiac cars and architecture, a polar bear family enjoying water play, picnic families, Asian black bear families, and the Fountain of Love where teddy bears hold wedding ceremonies. Every hour on the hour, a pair of adorable bears emerges from the clock tower! When you get tired from walking, don't forget to sit down for a cute photo with the bears. If you want to enjoy Jeju Island's scenery while savoring delicious food, you can also visit the fast food restaurant, café, or bar inside the museum. The fast food is affordably priced, with tasty burgers and ice cream that are quite popular among visitors.Seogwipo · 29.8km from Jeju City

Hallasan National Park

Hallasan National Park centers on Hallasan, which stands at an elevation of approx. 1,950 m. The main peak is a shield-shaped dormant volcano, and its name means "high enough to pull the galaxy." The crater at the summit is filled with water, forming Baengnokdam, and is surrounded by over 300 parasitic volcanic cones. The vegetation on the mountain changes with altitude, transitioning from subtropical plants at the foothills to cold-temperate forests at higher elevations, creating a rich natural landscape. The snow-capped summit is particularly striking in winter, and the late snow at Baengnokdam is one of the local natural sights. Hiking is the primary way to explore the park, with the Seongpanak and Gwaneumsa trails leading to Baengnokdam. The Seongpanak trail is longer but relatively gentle, offering views of forests and alpine plants along the way; the Gwaneumsa trail passes through Tamna Valley, Samgakbong Shelter, and other locations, with more varied terrain and a steeper final section. From late spring to early summer, azaleas in the high-altitude areas bloom one after another, contrasting beautifully with the deep green fir forests. If you prefer a shorter hike, you can also choose the Eorimok or Yeongsil trails. Neither of these trails leads to Baengnokdam, but they offer views of valleys, forests, rock walls, and unique rock formations along the way.Jeju City · 15.5km from downtown

I visited Jeju Island during my trip to South Korea. Located in southwestern South Korea, Jeju Island is the largest island in the country and its only special autonomous province. The direct flight from Guangzhou to Jeju Island takes about two and a half hours. Jeju Island is famous for its volcanic landscape and mild climate, earning it the nickname "Korea's Hawaii." In 2007, its natural landscapes, including Hallasan Mountain and lava caves, were listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Famous attractions on the island include Hallasan Mountain, lava caves, Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, and the Olle Trails, among others.

Fantastic Indoor Experience for Families! ⭐⭐⭐⭐We visited Aqua Planet Jeju with our family and kids, and it exceeded our expectations!Highlights: The massive main aquarium tank is breathtaking, and the variety of underwater life kept the kids captivated throughout the entire visit.Great for Families: The facility is exceptionally well-maintained, spacious, and very easy to navigate with children. Being completely indoors, it’s also the perfect destination regardless of the weather outside.Overall Experience: A wonderful blend of entertainment and learning. It’s definitely a must-visit spot on Jeju Island for group and family trips!

Fun! Great for taking photos both indoors and outdoors! The indoor area is mainly for taking pictures of comics, and there are also stamps and "worry-relief notes." The outdoor area is large, perfect for relaxing and strolling around. The only downside was that we got a bit lost towards the end; we were planning to leave at 13:50 but didn't get out until 14:10 because we couldn't find our way, the map wasn't very clear, and our phones didn't have GPS, so we just wandered around. But the flaws don't detract from the overall experience! It was fantastic! Regarding the indoor restaurant, I ordered the omelet rice, which was just okay, a bit too sweet for my taste. The Snoopy orange juice was 6000 won; only after buying it did I see on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) that the apple juice next door was 7000 won and came with a Snoopy bottle opener—buy that one, don't buy this one.

The island has its own unique atmosphere that you won’t find on Jeju or on the Korean mainland. You can circle the island on an electric bike in 4–5 hours, but I’d dedicate a whole day to this trip. And be sure to try the local culinary delights.

You can try riding the miniature train 🚄. It's a small ecological park. There aren't many things, but the ecology is so good, there are lots of small flying insects. Only the area with horses and sheep is suitable for children. The flowerbeds are also good for taking pictures.

It's a pity that it was a rainy day☔️There is a long beach here and there are different water sports to enjoy. There are also many unique boutique souvenir shops and coffee shops nearby. You can enjoy breakfast and coffee while looking at the sea view. It is very healing and relaxing. It is a very Chill experience and you can have half a day of leisure. 😌

It was actually quite good. I was a bit confused before going, and somehow I ended up there by mistake, but then it started raining heavily. They even refunded some money, but the problem is that even with the refund, the previous issues were gone. The Pikachu bumper cars were really perfunctory. In the previous game, everyone was catching Pikachu, but in our game, the person in the rush didn't even bother with the NPCs, which was really bad.

🎀 Jeju Island Jungmun Teddy Bear Museum Review 🎀 🚶‍♀️Super convenient location! Just near the Shilla Hotel, within walking distance, perfect for families with kids to visit on the way! 🤔My impressions: The museum isn't very big; a quick tour wasn't enough for me 😅 (I heard the other branches are even better!) The highlight is the DIY area! You can make your own personalized teddy bear 🧸 The creative painting area is so much fun! The parody versions of famous paintings like the Mona Lisa Bear and the Starry Night Bear are hilarious! I recommend allowing extra time for children to create here ✏️ ⚠️Disadvantages: The restaurant was practically empty. Make sure to wear sunscreen in the outdoor areas 🌞 If you're not a die-hard teddy bear fan, you might be a little disappointed. 💡Visit tips: Suitable for families/couples to take photos. I suggest combining it with nearby attractions. 1-2 hours is enough.

Hallasan Mountain, one of South Korea's three most famous mountains, is located in the center of Jeju Island. At 1950 meters, it is the highest peak in South Korea. Hallasan is an extinct volcano, with Baekrokdam, a volcanic lake with a diameter of 500 meters, at its summit. Due to its high altitude, the climate exhibits a vertical distribution from subtropical to frigid zones, and the mountain is home to over 1800 plant species and over 4000 animal species. In 1970, Hallasan was designated a Korean National Park, and in 2007 it was designated a World Natural Heritage Site.
