Mr. Zhang confirmed the itinerary with us the night before, and we set off at 7:00 AM, arriving at Jiuli Palace at 9:50 AM. Jiuli Palace was under construction for a stage to perform during the Lunar New Year, so walking around was a bit inconvenient. However, our guide, Ayi, provided detailed explanations, giving us a general understanding of Miao history, including their headdress culture. We left around 11:40 AM and asked Mr. Zhang to recommend a place to eat. The portions were huge; if you have a large group, you can order fish stew, but since we were a small group, we ordered two simple dishes, which were enough for the three of us. In the afternoon, we took a cruise on the Wujiang River. It was a three-story boat, and the cruise lasted an hour. The scenery along the banks of the Wujiang River was very beautiful towards the end; it would have been even better if we could have continued further. On the return trip, there was a face-changing performance and a calligraphy and painting sales event. A guy from Beijing in our group bought a painting. It depends on personal preference; we also thought the painting was beautiful and wanted to buy it. Then, at 4:30 PM, we went to Gongtan Ancient Town, a very quiet town, untouched by commercialism. Staying there would be very therapeutic, as you can see the emerald-green waters of the Wujiang River every day. Every corner of the town is photogenic. We returned to the city around 5:00 or 6:00 PM. Mr. Zhang drove very smoothly and responsibly throughout the trip, and even proactively led the way and recommended fun things to do.
Group tours are different now than before; you can still confidently join a one-day tour.★

This trip was absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend our driver and guide, Mr. Zhu. He was incredibly focused on travel safety, provided a wealth of information about the itinerary, and took excellent care of the passengers. The tour is a bit far from the city center, but the scenery was absolutely stunning—definitely worth experiencing!
