The scenery is beautiful, perfect for a road trip and camping. There isn't much commercial development around, which is a great thing. It's suitable for family gatherings, especially for those with children. Just remember to bring a tent and go early! Haha.

First and foremost, I recommend that non-Chinese tourists install WeChat to facilitate communication with the organizers and the driver. My excursion went perfectly. I was the only foreigner in the car, but we managed using a translator. The tour included a visit to the canyon in the morning (3 hours), a lunch break in downtown Zhangye, and then Danxia National Park in the afternoon (4 hours). The tour duration was sufficient to fully enjoy the sites. My only slight complaint was that I didn't have an English-speaking guide, not even a virtual one, but this didn't bother me since I prefer to explore independently.
