In the sweltering summer heat, I was torn about where to escape the heat! Comparing nearby options, and considering my 2-year-old and 7-year-old sons, the water at Water Century was too cold, so I decided on the Hot Spring Resort! We arrived at the Hot Spring Resort at 1 pm, and the kids had a blast. It wasn't as hot as I'd imagined. The resort was beautiful, with fresh air, and the whole family played until 5:30 pm, exploring everything from the children's playground to the hot spring pools. The oppressive heat of the foothills was completely gone. When it was time to go home, my older son was reluctant to leave, while my younger son's heat rash had completely disappeared! It's a great place to escape the heat, but be careful if you have a stroller—it's inconvenient to push them up and down the mountain!

Everything was perfect! Chris was very friendly and explained everything really well, plus he gave great recommendations. The only thing I would improve is the timing; I would change the stops. I would allow half an hour in Helmsey and 45 minutes in Goathland, as it's a bit of a trek to get to the famous train station. Otherwise, it was fantastic, no complaints at all.

We had an absolutely amazing experience on this tour, truly one of the best we’ve ever been on. First of all, John is a fantastic guide. He is an incredible storyteller, and we learned so much not only about the places we visited, but also about the history, geography, and culture of York and England in general. His knowledge and enthusiasm really made the whole experience special. The itinerary itself was perfectly designed. Every location we visited was breathtaking, it honestly felt like we had been travelling for several days rather than just 8 hours, given how much we were able to see. What I especially appreciated was how well-paced the tour was. There were frequent stops every 15–20 minutes, so you never felt tired from being on the road. Each stop gave just the right amount of time to explore without feeling rushed. It was also very convenient that most stops had access to restrooms and places to eat.

The guide/driver was exceptionally pleasant and knowledgeable. Made us feel welcome and tried to fit in optional extras like photo stops where possible.
