We did not have the use of a guide and we’re purely given a map of Chamonix and told when and where to pick up the coach for the return. Free time in Chamonix was fabulous. We explored on our own and the trip allowed us to do what we wanted in the time before the return. The trip was quite expensive for the convenience of being dropped and picked up on resort. We could have done just the same travelling by train.

Great guide! Plenty of time to do everything. Spectacular scenery. Take your time at high altitude. You may feel strange if you live near sea level. Take sugary snacks. It helps!! We did feel the hour-long wait on the glass “step into the void” was too long for the few seconds we would have to take pictures. It was plenty scenic enough already!! We also enjoyed the train ride to the ice cave. Sad that climate change is shrinking the glaciers SO fast.

In mountainous areas or on moving trains, the signal occasionally weakened or became briefly unstable, but it remained within acceptable limits and did not affect overall usability. ⚙️ The biggest advantage of eSIM is its convenience. This is extremely useful for those who need to check transportation information or adjust their itineraries on the fly.
