it is a long journey but you do 2 hours a pit stop and then 2 hours and lunch. Everyone that we encountered was super nice and friendly. The lunch is definitely NOT 10 dishes to choose from. it was spaghetti bolognese or a pie. The views were absolutely stunning and our guide told us all about her hermits and was very knowledgeable although we didn't stop and go to see the caves as in the photos. we saw them from the road on the hillside so couldn't get up close. The Monasteries were nice too. €5 to enter and €1 for the toilet. One of the Monasteries were shut but it didn't take away from the day.

I was surprised to find that I could choose moussaka at the restaurant! I had given up on it because I only had a limited number of days to travel, but I was glad I was able to eat it. The portions are huge, so be sure to eat as much as you can. Even if you don't choose the lunch option, there are several breaks, so it might be a good idea to bring your own. You can rent a skirt if you don't want to wear one, but it doesn't look very good in photos, so be sure to bring one.


