The process was smooth and explained. We were allowed on to a faster lane to do immigration at the airport. It was, however, unnecessary as there was hardly any queue in the regular lines, and we were done within minutes. It can be used during peak season or special days or if connecting flight are out of domestic terminals. Otherwise we found it to be unnecessary

I booked a VIP tour this time, and the itinerary was very packed, with five or six boat trips in total, making it a fairly in-depth tour. The Mekong River didn't look very clear; the water was quite yellow and covered with water hyacinths, but there was no unpleasant odor. The island had many plants (various fruits) and animals (pythons, crocodiles, catfish, etc.), and the guide led the tour, providing very enthusiastic explanations. At the narrow section of the river where boats were manually rowed, the guide mentioned that a tip was expected for the rowers. Before the tour ended, the guide suggested that if we were satisfied with the trip, we could also tip him; I felt I had to give him something, otherwise I'd feel awkward.
