I got amazing guide Misgan. During my trip yo Lalibela my lugagge was lost by ethiopian and Misgan helped me a lot. Except of guiding me thorough amazing churches with really detailed historical facts and details he aldo vontacted ethiopian and guided me to solve problems to deliver my luggage back to me. I spent two days & nights in Lalibela exploring the rock-hewn churches and the surrounding mountains under the care and guidance of Highland Eco Tours & Trekking. It included the history and overview of the churches, a 14K day trek up to one of the churches in the mountains, lunch with my guide and his family in his home (the best) . I absolutely loved the whole experience. I felt safe (as a woman traveling alone), cared for and comfortable that I had the best possible experience and that I had not missed anything AND that I still want to come back for more.

Overall, the itinerary was well-planned, and the food and accommodations were quite good, making it excellent value for money. Except for the ladyboy show recommended by the tour guide, which we saw at our own expense and found very enjoyable. Also, aside from the water sports activities which were not included in the itinerary, there were no mandatory extra charges, which was great. The only downsides were that there was almost no time for independent activities. Our time in Pattaya was already limited, and aside from a half-day group water sports activity, there wasn't even time to enjoy the beach on our own. The other downside was that the itinerary was too packed, ending very late each night, leaving no time to go shopping.

I had a great time in Lalibela with Dan; he showed me around, explained all the details of Lalibela churches and surroundings. It was a Good Friday and Easter Saturday so he also took me for an Easter breakfast and treated like a very special guest. I felt really safe during the journey and he took care of me. Amazing trip - I recommend it!


