Really beautiful and interesting outing with lots of information about conservation and wildlife from our guide. We got to walk, or clamber, through the rainforest.

We had expected a routine lake cruise, but this was so much more. From the moment he introduced himself at our meeting, Carl was friendly, engaging and informative. We were very lucky to be the only two on this particular trip and Carl gave us lots of information on the bird life around the lake and the successful conservation efforts being undertaken. His passion for his work shone through. Halfway round we stopped for very welcome hot drinks and biscuits. Our experience was heightened when Carl then stopped to pick up a wildlife officer he had dropped off that morning. She had been tracking a particular kiwi to check on its progress and talked to us about her work and showed us photos she had taken previously. All in all this was a very memorable cruise which I have no hesitation in recommending.
