Jack was absolutely amazing! I normally don’t do tours like this, but he definitely gave me a reason to do it again. Jack was energetic, funny, knowledgeable, and knew how to make the entire tour so enjoyable! I really enjoyed how he gave us much history, combined with scenery. Jack was also very sensitive to personal needs-like me having a foot injury. I would recommend this tour to anybody going to Edinburgh, and I would definitely ask for Jack to be your tour guide!

Truly enjoyable and informative day trip with an outstanding guide / driver Calais. The Lindores Abbey distillery tour and tasting was excellent. The stop at Dewars distillery for lunch was also delightful with great lunch offerings. Finally finding the elusive highland cow in the winter was made simple by Calais, enjoyed seeing these majestic animals and taking pictures. All in all an outstanding trip to the Scottish Low/Highlands.

The tour was operated by Hairycow and was at the end of January. The organization was excellent. After I purchased the tour, trip.com contacted me to reschedule it because the tour with a stop at the distillery wasn't available that day. I was offered a tour on the day I selected but with a lake cruise, or other days from the list that included the distillery. I chose the boat ride and was not disappointed. The bus was comfortable, with restroom and snack stops along the way. The views were stunning; I personally didn't have enough stops for nature photography. But the views are so beautiful that I wanted to stop every 100 meters. Late January was a good time for the boat ride; the boat has two decks, open on top and large windows on the bottom, and is well heated. There's also a bar with alcohol (I recommend the lower deck and look for the windows with the Nessie sticker for photos). And even though the program didn't say there would be hairy cows, the company named after them certainly showed them to us. Thank you!


