Our guide Justin was amazing, so kind and helpful, and he has climbed Pico over a hundred times! The weather was mostly cold (April ascent, so some small snow fields were still present), very wet descent so slippy as it's steep, but ok if you're careful. I'm 68 years old, and the other three in our party were in their thirties (and Alpine experienced trekkers), so I was slower, but always supported, never made to feel a burden. We had a great laugh despite the difficulties, and Justin carried my backpack up the final summit push which is a 100m+ scramble, then he continued carrying it down to beyond half way back, as I was struggling a bit (I had a new hip this time last year). Great trip, highly recommended!

Silvia was fantastic; she explained a great deal about the history of Pico and the formation of the volcanic caves. She took her time and answered all our questions in detail. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would gladly recommend it.

It was an absolutely fantastic experience and a must for every mountain enthusiast in the Azores! Steffi guided us safely, entertainingly, and with utter charm to the summit and back – with so much passion and expertise. At the top, she even surprised the group with Azorean tea and homemade brownies. 100% recommendation, thank you Steffi!

We really loved this tour! Filipe was very knowledgeable on all things Pico Island and its wine culture, we learned so much about Pico Island and he was able to answer any questions we had! He took us to more places to see than just wineries which was great. We also enjoyed a full Portuguese buffet lunch, and loved all the Pico wines we tried in the day! The liquor/brandy tasting was also a very nice addition to the tour. Would definitely highly recommend this tour!

We had such a great time on our tour! Phillip our guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the island and the vineyards. He added some fun facts about the plants in the area and how they also affect the vineyards. We had a small group of 6 and it was fun to meet new people. We really enjoyed meeting the creators of the islands best wines and liquors/brandy. You can really feel the passion they bring to the art of producing fine spirits! Our stop for lunch included more than expected and was delicious! This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Azores and Pico island. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants some great company, local knowledge and delicious drinks and food!


