The tour was an amazing experience! This was my first time in CO and I wanted to do something special for my mum. She loves nature! I purchased the tickets the day before online. Parking was easy, checkin was easy. Boarding was on time! We got seated early enough to order food and drinks-service was excellent-the menu options were quite large. The ride was about 2 hrs through the gorge. The right side was all rocks and mountains. The left side of the train ran parallel to the river. After having lunch we went out to open air carriage and that was the highlight of the journey! What an experience! My mum loved it! Just know that the train goes forward and then reverses. So if you stay inside you don’t see the opposite side of the gorge.

Our guide was friendly and personable. He shared many interesting facts about the local history, geography, botany, etc. However, we had already visited the Royal Gorge and historical downtown area, so those parts of the trip were not very enjoyable.


