First of all, a quick shoutout to the tour organizer, who told our guide to wait for us at one place and told us to wait for her at another place. Thankfully, we were able to contact her via phone and we started the tour without incident. That little hiccup aside, the tour was excellent! Vanessa gave us a great 2+ hour tour of the Old Town, stopping at highlights such as the Fraumunster and the Grossmunster, but also the fountains, important historic sites (where Zurich women saved the city from invading forces), vestiges of a Roman bath, and a panoramic view of the river. We also learned a lot about life in Switzerland. To top it off, Vanessa shared some Swiss chocolates with us to finish our tour. This was a great way to spend a free morning we had in town!

The guide was excellent. I enjoyed the tour except for 2 things: 1. When we visited the platform at the top of the hill we weren’t able to access the platform due to preparation for an event. They could have opened a small access way for us to take photographs of the city and lake. 2. A group of Spanish tourists were politely told that this was an English only tour but the guide translated for them anyway which was very kind of her. However, they talked consistently throughout the English part of the guide’s talk which made it very difficult to hear. I had to ask them a few times to be quieter.

Overall it is definitely not cheap, but you can travel on trains around Europe as many times as you want during the period, flexible and convenient, especially for last minute travelers. Keep in mind in countries like Spain, Italy and France, the reservation fee is expensive and can add up quickly, so you need to plan ahead. Also, in most countries, the app cannot be used in the tickets gates automatically, and must seek help from staff. Hope they can improve it.

Swiss Travel Pass really made travelling around Switzerland a lot easier. I can change my plan anytime just hop on and hop off with showing the QR code only.
