I recommend going during warmer months than winter. The outdoor seats on the second floor are ideal for watching the ladder, but you'll need to be well-dressed during colder months. (I went at the end of December, so I wore a down jacket and scarf.) You can also see various lakes and coastal tourist attractions, so I think it's a great value tour. Food and drinks are sometimes available for purchase on board, but bringing them with you is prohibited. However, candy and gum are of course OK. There are also restrooms on board. The view of Mount Rainier and the Space Needle from the second deck was spectacular. You can also see Gas Works Park quite well from the boat.★

What a fabulous overview in sight and sound of Seattle! Captain Ron was a treasure trove of information who presented it with enthusiasm, humor and historical knowledge! The van was very comfortable, the sound system allowed us to hear his narration with no problem.The tour company went above and beyond to accommodate our trip! Highly recommend!★

Fantastic winter time tour to Mt. Rainier! We had a brilliant tour from Seattle to Mt. Rainier. The comfortable minibus ride from downtown Seattle took us through the scenic Kent Valley, with the opportunity to spot elk along the way. Our guide, Erika, was fantastic: warm, knowledgeable, and helpful. She gave brilliant commentary throughout, shared snacks and hot chocolate to keep us warm, and was brilliant at helping us take photos and explaining everything about the area. We made several stops, from snow-covered forests to stunning views of the volcano. Our final stop at Longmire was the highlight: plenty of time to snowshoe or wander around anything from volcanic streams to mountain ridges, with a nice gift shop and café too.
