Took the cruise from the Tromso harbor with Ivan as our guide. He introduced the crew and provided the safety briefing with an interesting twist helping to keep the attention of passengers on an important subject. Ivan provided narration, information and history, explaining points of interest as we cruised. Unfortunately, wind and currents were to high to make any stops or launch the underwater drone, but the captain made up for it by pointing out a harbor porpoise and following it for a bit to ensure all passengers got a glimpse. The ship is lovely, very comfortable and has lots of room to move about. My sisters and I enjoyed our experience.

This was a Christmas activity for our family of 5 as we celebrated in Tromso. It is a must-do experience for anyone visiting to enjoy this and learn about the Sami culture. It is a 45-minute journey from Tromso with an amazing view of the snow mountains. You are free to feed and take pictures with the reindeer for around the hour. The main hall is warm and has bread, tea, and hot chocolate. Lunch was bidos (reindeer stew) or vegetarian. Then, a sharing was done by John who is from northern Sami where he shared about customs, reindeers, gakti, etc. Weather is a huge factor in these trips and the tour bus could not return to us for pickup - with an hour’s delay, the crew was very apologetic and hardworking, arranging alternative transport on two smaller Mercedes vans. This experience was memorable and I highly recommend it for the exposure with lovely people!

Tom was an excellent host. Tom was very friendly and clearly passionate about the group seeing the lights. His excitement was infectious and led to a really fun evening and his local knowledge provided us with spectacular locations to see the light displays. We especially liked the mountain location. The photos he took were nice and varied as it was a small group of only 6 of us. The sausages and hot choc was great. Tom went above and beyond coming back to our hotel drop off point as we had left our headtorch in the van. He also has got back to us quickly when we had questions about downloading the photos. Recommend highly doing his tour. Thanks Tom.
