Reviews: Private Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Kolkata

We cannot thank our guide Surata enough for making our first trip to India so truly special. From the very beginning, he was incredibly friendly, professional, thoughtful, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable, informed, and cared for at every moment. His passion for his work and for sharing India’s culture, history, and everyday life really shone through, and it made the entire experience unforgettable. If it were possible, we would happily give more than five stars. Thank you for making our first India experience so amazing. We hope our paths cross again in the future!
Reviews: Kolkata - Sounds and Sights - Private Full Day City Tour

We booked the night before so it was a last minute decision but the best decision we could have made. Ritwick was provided as our guide and we were so very lucky. He spent the entire day providing us a VIP tour around Kolkata with so much knowledge about the history and the culture of the area. We were honored to have this experience and recommend this tour with the highest praise!
Reviews: Private Calcutta Tour

Fantastic Guided Tour of Kolkata. Our guide Subrata was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions fanatically. He even went to additional lengths to ensure we had a positive experience. After finding out my profession (civil engineer) he made a point of pointing out interesting structural/architectural elements and found us a lovely art store after I said I was interested in paintings. Would recommend highly to anyone. I feel like I really got to know Kolkata!
Reviews: Explore Kolkata- Private Tour with Lunch

I had a fantastic tour with Muzzafar and the driver. As agreed, I was picked up from my hotel on time. There, we first discussed what we would be seeing. Muzzafar is very knowledgeable and experienced. The driver drove the vehicle very safely; it was very comfortable. We saw the most important sights, the highlight of which was, of course, the flower market. The tour also offered some great culinary experiences. We visited an Indian coffee house and, at the end, a lovely bakery. It was a wonderful day. I highly recommend this tour to everyone, even if you're traveling alone.
Reviews: Day trip from Kolkata to Bishnupur for Terracotta Temples and Silk
Guest User2025-12-30
The road to Bishnupur is very rough through Arambagh and traffic will be a challenge from central Kolkata, especially returningadter 5pm. Once you get near Bishnupur, the trip really improves. The drive through the Joypur Forest is beautiful and gets you in the right frame of mind to visit the temples. We had a small car which could navigate through the small streets and didn't take scooter tuktuks. Our *** guide, Sauvik, and driver were very knowledgeable as was our local temple guide. The temples themselves are beautiful and the artistry of the terracotta work is to behold. We visited the Ras Mancha, the Jor Bangla Temple, the Lalji Temple, and Radhashyam Temple. To see all of the temples requires an overnight stay. The key was to get a very knowledgeable local temple guide and we got an excellent guide who described in detail the intricacies of each temple including historical dates, construction features and details. The tour included all expenses for the local temple guide as well as a lunch meal and tea along the way there and back. The tour also included a stop at a local Baluchari sari production unit where you can see the craftsmen making the saris using handlooms. There is a sari shop there, as well, with an excellent selection of local saris.
Reviews: Private Half-Day Kolkata Tour
Guest User2025-10-20
This highly recommended private tour of Kolkata offers a truly enriching and memorable experience, with Muzaffar as an absolutely fantastic guide. Guide and Experience Muzaffar is an extremely knowledgeable guide, articulate and passionate about the history, culture, and details of Kolkata and India in general. He answered all our probably weird questions, making the entire experience engaging and fun. We learned a significant amount about the city and we would not have been able to set up such a tour by ourselves. Muzaffar provides an exceptional service and is nice, kind, friendly, and very flexible, easily adjusting the tour to our personal preferences and requests. The driver is also to praise for navigating the Kolkata traffic. Tour Highlights The tour hits all the main sites but can be customized. This is what we visited: We started by a memorable and humbling visite at Mother Teresa house museum and tomb. Our guide also took us to three Jain temples in Kolkata (Dadabari and Mahavira Temple), spread over three complexes. We then went to New Market, a massive olf covered market where you can find everything from needle to diamond. Quite an experience. We bought some spices and tea. We visited the old english district with massive buildings and later the park around Victoria Memorial (opted for not going inside) and St Paul's Cathedral. The Flower Market was quite an authentic experience with Muzaffar guiding us through the narrow streets below the Howrah Bridge. The peaceful visit to the "potter's district in Kumartuli to see amazing clay sculptures being created for the festivals and learning about it was for me the highlight. We also went to College Street for coffee and snacks at the Indian Coffee House and were gifted a poetry book by Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel prize of litterature. Value This private tour is really the most effective way to see the city. The high quality of the experience, especially with Muzaffar, will save you time and headache if this is your first time in India and a little apprehensive to discover such a big city.
