If the weather is good and you have an evening to spare in Chongqing, the 7th Wharf riverboat cruise is an unforgettable experience that should not be missed.
We took the last cruise of the night at 9:50 PM, arriving well-fed after an amazing hot pot dinner. While we didn’t dine on the boat, the atmosphere was perfect for relaxing and soaking in the illuminated skyline of the city—an ideal setting for photos and lasting memories.
The highlight came at the end of the cruise, with a lively cultural performance featuring traditional Chinese dance, an impressive face-changing act, and a small exhibit by a renowned local painter—with the opportunity to purchase a piece as a keepsake. These touches added a wonderful cultural flair to round out the evening.
The cruise concluded around 11 PM, leaving us with a renewed appreciation for the beauty of the city at night. Tickets for these mini cruises are widely available at various locations throughout the city during the day, making it easy to plan ahead.
