Xuanmiao Temple Review

At the beginning of the new year, my family and I came to the Xuanmiaoguan in Guanqian Street, Suzhou City. Because it was the coming of the festival, there were many tourists, bustling, many pilgrims, and the incense was very strong... The Xuanmiaoguan, which was founded in the Xijin period, was the largest Taoist view at that time. The existing mountain gate and the rebuilt main hall of the Sanqing Temple are 9 rooms wide, 6 deep, about 30 meters high, the building area is 1125 square meters, the heavy Xieshan, magnificent, is the largest existing Song Dynasty wooden structure in the south of the Yangtze River. There are a large number of ancient monuments in the dynasties, including the stone carvings of Laojun statues, one of the only two old statues in China. Xuanmiaoguan has been the religious and cultural center of Suzhou, and is now the main place for Taoism activities in Suzhou. Due to its excellent geographical location, numerous cultural relics and rich Taoist cultural connotation, Xuanmiaoguan has become one of the famous tourist attractions in Suzhou. Xuanmiaoguan has a history of more than 1700 years, because of its long history and grand scale, it is known as the "first ancient view of Jiangnan". It is now a key cultural relics protection unit in the country.

Xuanmiaoguan, located in Guanqian Street, Suzhou City, was founded in Xianning, Xijin, in the two years (AD 276), Xuanmiaoguan in its peak time has more than 30 temples, is the largest Taoist view in the Xijin period. There are now Shanmen, Sanqing Palace, Miluo Pavilion and 21 matching temples. The main hall of the Sanqing Temple rebuilt in the Southern Song Dynasty in 1179 was 9 rooms wide, 6 rooms deep, about 30 meters high, 1125 square meters of construction area, heavy and magnificent, and is the largest existing Song Dynasty wooden structure in the south of the Yangtze River. There are a large number of ancient monuments in the view, including the stone inscription of Lao Jun, painted for Tang Wu Daozi, Tang Xuanzong title praise, Yan Zhenqing book, carved by Zhang Yundi, a master of the stone in the Song Dynasty, can be called "four must" monument, is one of the only two remaining statues in China.

Xuanmiaoguan has been a religious and cultural center in Suzhou, and is now the main place for Taoism activities in Suzhou. Due to its superior geographical location, many cultural relics and rich cultural connotations, Xuanmiaoguan has become one of the famous tourist attractions in Suzhou.

Xuanmiaoguan is located in the center of Suzhou ancient city, its main hall Sanqing hall was built in the Southern Song Dynasty, is the only remaining Southern Song Dynasty wooden temple building in Suzhou, with a long history and grand scale, which has important historical value in the history of Chinese architecture. It was listed as a key cultural relics protection unit in 1982.

三清殿是玄妙观的正殿，重建于南宋淳熙六年(1179)，是中国长江以南最大的木构古建筑。它既是宋代官式建筑的代表，也表现出地方性建筑的特点，是研究宋代南北建筑差异的重要例证。1982年定为全国重点文物保护单位。
