Xiangyu Ancient Fort is located in Xiangyu Village, Zhengcun Town, 50 kilometers southeast of Lishui County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province. Xiangyu, formerly known as Xianggu, was added to the village name because the village was surrounded by mountains and rivers, which is called Xiangyu. Xiangyu City is a honeycomb castle, all built of masonry and earth structure. The east and west are 280 meters long, the north and south are 100 to 150 meters wide, covering an area of about 32,500 square meters. The city was built by Sun Juxiang and Sun Dingxiang brothers and was built in the third year (1623) tomorrow, and completed in Ming Chongxu seven years (1634). Since Sun Dingxiang ranked third among Sun's four brothers, and he had served as the right deputy imperial envoy of the Duchayuan, his government was named Sandutang, and the ancient city of Xiangyu was also known as Sandu Ancient City.
