On June 7, 2009, the Shuanglong Temple in Jilandan, Malaysia (referred to as Danzhou) held a 128-foot-tall Buddha statue on June 5, which attracted more than 1,000 Buddhist followers from Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. On June 6, the lotus tube filled with gold pieces was placed in the "heart" of the Buddha statue, marking the official completion of the ceremony. It is reported that the grand ceremony was celebrated as one of the most grand Buddhist events in Danzhou, Malaysia in 2009.
