Science: Kaner, Yijingxue, is a special irrigation system in desert areas. Kanerjing, the Great Wall of Wanli, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, is called the three major projects in ancient China. The total number of Kaner wells in Turpan is nearly 1,000, and the total length is about 5,000 kilometers. The structure of Kaner Well is composed of four parts: shafts, underground channels, ground channels and "bam" (small reservoir), Bogda Mountain in the north of Turpan Basin and Karawucheng Mountain in the west, with a large amount of snow and rain flowing down the valley in spring and summer, diving into the Gobi Beach. The slope of the mountain is used to cleverly create Kaner wells and submerge underground flow to irrigate farmland. Kaner does not evaporate a lot of water due to hot and windy winds, so the flow is stable and the self-flow irrigation is guaranteed.
