The full name of Neuschwanstein Castle is a late 19th century building in the southwestern part of Bavaria, Germany, adjacent to the earlier high swan castle (Schloss Hohenschwangau, also known as the old swan castle), about 4 kilometers from the town of Fussen, not far from the German-Austrian border. Neuschwan Castle is a symbol of Germany and is also called the Sleeping Beauty Castle because it is the prototype of Disney Castle. Built in 1869, it is one of the palaces of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Of the 360 rooms, only 14 were completed according to the design, while the other 346 were not completed due to the death of the king in 1886. It is the most photographed building in Germany and one of the most popular tourist attractions.
