This Buddhist temple is one of the most beautiful in ancient Kyoto. It was built without a single nail on top of a 13-meter stage - in ancient times, jumping from the stage was seen as a sign of bravery. Near the main hall vistors can catch and drink the water from Otowa waterfall, believed to have wish-granting powers.
