From the Meiji emperor to Tokyo, the former Tokugawa general's Edo City became the imperial residence, the Japanese emperor's residence and office. At present, tourists generally go to the imperial residence to see the place is the imperial residence outside the garden (the main square has the iconic teak wood Zhengcheng bronze statue, you can also overlook the double bridge) and the east imperial garden, in fact, the imperial residence inside the garden can also be visited, but it is recommended to make an appointment in advance. At present, the visit process of the imperial palace is: make an appointment in advance, and then go to the orange stalk of the imperial palace about 10 minutes in advance on the day of visit, show the reservation certificate, and the staff of the palace will contact and check the name (electronic vouchers and paper vouchers are available, It is best to bring a printed reservation form, the staff will take it away), and then a tour drawcard will be issued. Then enter a hall, there will be a pre-visit explanation. There is a souvenir shop next to the hall, some good souvenirs; After the explanation, there will be three groups according to the language of the tourists: Chinese group, Japanese group, English group. On the day we visited, a Japanese grandfather was the guide guide of the Chinese group. There are fixed routes to visit, along the way you can see various buildings from the Edo era to modern times, of which Fuji saw was built in the early Edo era, nearly 400 years ago, because in the Edo era when the weather is good, you can see the Fuji Mountain in the distance, so the name Fuji saw, This is the highest Edo-era building in the Imperial Palace. The function is as a defensive arrow building. The building is more than 30 meters high. It is the tallest one in the existing Edo-era building and has become the representative building of the Imperial Palace. The palace was newly built after World War II, and the original palace was blown up by the US military in World War II. The whole palace is very low-key compared to the Forbidden City in China, but the low-key is still dignified. Every year, the emperor's birthday and the new year on January 2, the emperor's family will appear here, and ordinary tourists can see the emperor's family here. In addition, when important guests come to Japan, the emperor will also hold a welcome ceremony in the square of the palace's eastern court. The visit also sees the office building of the Palace Office, which was built before World War II and has a historical year in terms of appearance, and important state events such as the Palace dinner, the appointment of the Prime Minister will be held inside. The greening in the imperial residence is very good, there are many pine trees planted, and I feel that the Japanese like pine trees. The whole visit process will be accompanied by the imperial residence staff and cannot be visited by themselves. After all, this is the royal land, which is understandable. After the visit, I still leave the imperial residence from the orange stalk gate, and the whole tour takes about 75 minutes. There is no bathroom in the walking route, and you can solve it in the bathroom in the hall where you go in and gather in advance. The visit reservation of the Imperial Palace is open every month and the reservation is open for the next month. It is recommended to prepare in advance to avoid the reservation. It is not open on Sunday and Monday. There are currently 2 ways to make an appointment in advance: 1. The official website of the Palace Hall 2. Make an appointment by phone in advance, and you can still handle it when the official website is full, but both methods are currently limited. We were late when we went, and finally made an appointment through a friend's introduction on a treasure. One of them can handle the appointment by phone to Japan, but it is recommended to make an appointment as soon as possible to avoid making an appointment.

The Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan is absolutely stunning 🏯 It's a symbol of Japan's rich history and culture. The palace complex is surrounded by beautiful gardens and moats, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere. While the palace itself is not open to the public, you can still visit the East Gardens which offer a glimpse into the imperial grounds. It's a great place to take a leisurely stroll and admire the traditional architecture and lush greenery. If you're interested in Japanese history and want to experience a tranquil oasis in the heart of Tokyo, the Imperial Palace is a must-visit. Have you had the chance to explore the beauty of the Imperial Palace? 🌸🇯🇵

    4/5Excellent

If you have short time in Tokyo you may skip this spot as walking inside the huge garden takes long time and not much to see. But if you have min 4-5 days to spend in Tokyo, you can spare 2-3hrs for this location. Beautiful garen though.

The Imperial Palace has served as the residential place of the successive Emperors since 1868. It contains the Imperial Residence and the Imperial Palace Complex, where His Majesty the Emperor undertakes official duties. Various ceremonies and public activities are held there too.

A visit to the Imperial Palace is one of the best things to do in Tokyo! There are free guided tours available that will enable you to explore the inner grounds, but no buildings are visited. Furthermore, you can visit the adjacent Imperial Palace East Gardens, which have been open to the public since 1968.
