洪江古商城位于湖南省怀化市洪江区，地处湘西雪峰山边陲。它起源于春秋，成形于盛唐，鼎盛于明清，是国内保存最完好的古建筑群之一。从地理上看洪江，虽属弹丸之地，却汇聚了直通洞庭入长江的沅水、巫水和潕水，江面宽阔，水势浩大，宛若一股洪流，于是就有了“洪江’的称谓。洪江早期只是普通的驿站、商埠，至明清时期发展成为烟火万家的巨镇，以集散桐油、木材、白腊、鸦片而闻名，是滇、黔、桂、湘、蜀五省地区的物资集散地，是湘西南地区经济、文化、宗教中心，素有“湘西明珠”、“小南京”、“西南大都会”之美称。洪江现仍保存完好的明、清古建筑，如窨子屋、寺院、镖局、钱庄、商号、洋行、作坊、店铺、客栈、青楼、报社、烟馆等共380多栋，总面积约30万平方米，堪称我国江南民居古建筑之经典，有如一幅直观明、清、民国社会市井全貌的“清明上河图”，是我国近代商业发展的一个标本，也是我国保存最完整、内容最丰富的古城之一，被有关专家誉为“中国内陆地区资本主义萌芽的活化石”。起初，我是闻所未闻过洪江这个小城的，尽管由于工作原因，数次辗转湘黔两地，都在怀化中转，她一直在我身边，我却忽视她的存在。是朋友告诉我，下次出差有空，可去洪江看看，我才知道有这个小城。中国民俗学家林河先生认为，中国最早的丝绸之路是3000年前商代开始的水上丝绸之路，路线是四川的物资经长江转入酉水，经酉阳、秀山进入沅陵(古黔中郡府地)的沅水，在湘西洪江换苗船经贵州黄平(古且兰国旧址)到达清水江的源头，再换马帮进云南、入缅甸或越南，最后经由陆路或印度洋抵达西域。作为海上丝绸之路必经的重要中转之地．洪江也就有了孕育和产生商城的机遇。洪江古商城有“七冲、八巷、九条街”，规模十分宏大，可看的东西很多，我因为是午后才去，又怕太晚赶不回怀化，浮光掠影，不过大家可通过我的图文窥斑见豹。洪江，历史遗存保护最好的古城；洪江，一个还未商业化的原生态景区；洪江，你值得一去的好地方！


