Thomas Carlisle (Thomas Carlisle, 1881), was appointed president of the University of Edinburgh in 1865 and served until 1868. He is a famous Scottish commentator, satirist and historian. In Heroes and Heroes Worship, he argues that “history is nothing but writing for great men.”

网上订票，现场有取票机器，很方便，建议一定要提前网上订票，现场买票排队人多。城堡挺大的，带着孩子兜兜迋迋半天，苏格兰的王室珠宝必看，有些排队，其他的如战争博物馆，纪念馆，皇宫等等无需排队，进入挺快滴。

I highly recommend enjoying the walk around the castle without a guide. It starts every 15 minutes and you can walk through the entrance to the castle. You can easily spend an hour here. I recommend booking the earliest tickets to avoid queues. I missed watching the crown because at 11:01pm (I was on tour and watching around), waiting to see it in the queue was a joke.

爱丁堡城堡是我最喜欢的经典，里面充满了历史的神秘和古老的气息，城堡建在山上，景色优美，里面很大，有文物有故事有宝藏。拿着电子讲解器把每一个故事都听一遍，然后参观苏格兰国王的权杖、宝剑、皇冠，十分的震撼。
