I prefer its other name, the Rock Mosque. It is said that the rock in the mosque is where Muhammad was raised to see God, so it became the third holy place for Muslims. For years, I have not known how many wars have been fought with the Jews. Compared to the Al-Aqsa Mosque on one side, it is much more gorgeous, with a dome of real gold glazed in the sun, and colorful mosaic tiles on the walls, decorated as many mosques are in Koranic writing, and Arabic patterns. This is rare in the ancient city. My friend pulled a long focus and photographed me and the mosaic wall in a frame.
