It is a remarkable witness to the history and art of Milan from the 5th to 17th centuries. It was demolished by the Austrians in 1782 and closed down by the French to store iron and carriages. Only a small part of the 11th century churches have been preserved to this day. The restored basement can see Roman and medieval objects.

A retained wall in the center of the city feels like a ruin on a corner, with a black monument beside it commemorating the history of what is now only a few brick walls. Underneath the site is a cellar, and the structure of the dome is quite distinctive.
