A great two-day plan is a trip to Uglich and the neighboring towns of the Yaroslavl and Tver regions. 🚘 The drive from Moscow takes about 5 hours, and you can also visit beautiful small towns like Sergiev Posad, Rostov Veliky, Pereslavl-Zalessky, and Tutaev along the way. Uglich is a small town on the banks of the Volga River 🏞️ ⛪️ The Kremlin area has been preserved here, featuring a brick palace, churches, and a bell tower. 🫖 The bell tower is used as a tea house where you can buy gingerbread, marmalade, warm up with tea or other drinks, and purchase souvenirs. 🎟️ To enter the Kremlin buildings, you will need to purchase a ticket at the ticket office. In winter, there is an ice rink ⛸️ near the Kremlin. You can stay in apartments, which are cheaper than hotels.

Weekends in Uglich and Rybinsk are wonderful even in winter. And the city at night, shrouded in river fog, is captivating in its beauty. This graceful silence is broken only by the sound of the skating rink in the central square. You can rent skates and do a few laps of the ice while listening to your favorite music. I recommend staying at the #VolzhskayaRiviera Hotel in Uglich. It's a wonderful place with excellent service, a #SPA, and delicious food. #Rybinsk is 70 km from Uglich. We return here time and again to buy delicious #Bread from a colorful man in the central square, stock up on fragrant #Butter from the local creamery, and stroll along the #Volga embankment.
