🍵🌟 Matcha Magic with Japanese Food in JB
📍 Location: 3, Jalan Chengai, Taman Melodies, 80250 Johor Bahru
🌟 Atmosphere/Vibe: We arrived at 1 pm, and even though we had to wait a bit, the entire process was surprisingly pleasant. While waiting, we had a blast taking pictures around the estate. What's more, there was a dedicated indoor space to wait, which was a nice touch. But the real surprise was the cool vending machine outside the restaurant! It sold a variety of tea, and at first, we almost thought it was fake, but it's actually real! 📸🍵
😋 Highlights: When it comes to the menu, we really enjoyed the matcha drinks! They're a must-try. All the flavors are very interesting, but my absolute favorite has to be the strawberry one! 🍓🍵 The Japanese-inspired food was equally impressive and definitely worth the wait. I particularly liked the salmon ochazuke; it hit all the right notes, although I wouldn't say no to a slightly bigger portion of salmon. 🍣🍚
💰 Average Price Range: The prices are quite reasonable, I'd say. The food falls in the range of 30-40 RM, while the drinks are around 20 RM. 💵🍽️

Authentic Chinese Food in Kuala Lumpur!
Din by Din Tai Fung
Din by Din Tai Fung is a halal version of Din Tai Fung, an award winning restaurant from Taiwan. They have over 100 branches worldwide including in Hong Kong where they are awarded the Michelin Star. They have various branches including in Suria KLCC and KLIA Airport
I ordered their signature dishes which is Xiao Long Bao which is a type of soup dumplings as well as their spicy Chicken wonton. The Xiao Long Bao contains hot steaming broth with delicious meat stuffing inside so it's when you eat it, there's like a surprise in your mouth. The soup is very tasty and can easily be my new comfort food.
They provide ginger with soy sauce and vinegar dipping for you to eat with the Xiao Long Bao and this is the perfect combination and tasted better than when you it the dumplings on its own. Their dumplings are made right in front of your eyes with their glass wall open concept kitchen to allow their customers to see how their dumplings is freshly made. Their spicy chicken wonton is very delicious too. It is not that spicy for me but still l, it's tasty and i love the chicken fillings.
They also provide chilli oil for every table so if you want it to be more spicy, you can just add more chilli oil according to your likings. As for the price, it is quite pricy but to me, it is worth it and you get what you paid for. You can taste their high quality ingredients and its delicious.

Lovely Floral Cafe in Sibu!
Flos Cafe is the first floral cafe in Sibu, Sarawak where it is a cafe and also selling flowers at the same time. They sell various beverages and dessert like cakes, toasts, caneles and many more.
We ordered their ice matcha latte, salted caramel latte as well as their ferrero cake. Their salted caramel latte is very nice and perfect balance of caramel and coffee while their matcha latte on the other hand tasted okay but nothing special. Their ferrero cake is very nice and not too sweet so if you're looking for something less sweet, you can order the ferrero cake. We wanted to try their famous canele since we have been craving for it since forever but it was sold out.
The environment of this cafe is very relaxing and calming, perfect for you to chill out and have coffee with your friends. The decoration is very very beautiful and aesthetic with so many beautiful flowers and plants. They have both indoor and outdoor tables and both are super breathtaking. Price wise, it's more on the pricier side since it's a cafe but i dont mind paying for it since it's very beautiful and relaxing.

Paparich At Changi Airport Terminal 2
#2023travelwish #foodie #changiairport #malaysiafood #penang #singapore #paparich
Just recently Changi Airport terminal 2 just open to public sometime this year for travellers. Although the airport is at 60-70% open, there are some eateries located on the 2nd floor where you can go up using the lift near the immigration area.
Paparich is one of the many restaurants there that serves local asian food, where its more towards comfort food like nasi lemak, kway teow, satay. More towards the malaysia penang kind of food.
This place reminds me of going to penang for a great holiday. Although many people dream country is to fly far, mine can be as simple as just flying to penang since there are great beaches there and also great food too!
Great Hotel with Good Food
Tanahmas Hotel, a hotel in Sibu has a great restaurant called Peppers. They have various type of food as well as cakes. The restaurant is always packed with customers especially at night for dinner. We ordered chicken rice, fish and chips and char kuey teow.
The portion of food at this restaurant is very generous. We ordered Hokkien Kuey Teow and Cantonese Kuey Teow and the portion is huge enough for 2-3 people. The Char Kuey Teow is good and there's a lot of chicken as well as prawn. The price is very reasonable considering the portion and environment of the restaurant which is very relaxing. Perfect for you to chill with your family and friends.

Best Ikan Bakar in KL
Ikan Bakar Jalan Bellamy is a stall that specializes in
grilled seafood including grilled squid and grilled fish. The
stall is located near Istana Negara or National Palace.
Price varies depend on the type of seafoods that you
choose but it is still reasonable.
They have various types of fish and you can choose any
fish you want. Our favourite grilled fish is Ikan Pari Bakar.
The fish and squids are very well marinated and you can
taste the spices. They also provide various kind of sauces
to be eaten with the seafoods. The ikan bakar tasted
better if you eat them with the sambals. However, the
queue was VERYYY LONG especially during lunch our so
you have to be early in order to get your seat. We arrived
at around 1130am and waited around 15 minutes for our
turn but the food was worth the wait.

Rosdet Tomyam located in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur is one of our must visit restaurant for every trip to Kuala Lumpur. Price is affordable considering the taste and quality of the food. There are public parking and private parking space near the shop but it is quite limited.
The tomyam at Rosdet is one of the best and most authentic tomyam in kuala lumpur we have ever tasted. The tomyam is super spicy and the portion is quite huge too. We also love the ikan masak stim or steamed fish and the taste is balanced. We also ordered udang goreng kunyit and it is delicious. The kerang is served when its hot and perfect to eat with their homemade gravy sauce. For dessert, we had Pulut Mangga and it was perfect. If you're in Kampung Baru, please try this restaurant.

Some of the branches that i have ever been to is BananaBro Berjaya Times Square, BananaBro Uptown and Bananabro The Gardens Mall. All the branch that i have ever been to is very clean.
We ordered the Craving Set which already includes rice, curry, and vegetables. This set is refillable where you can refill rice, curry or vegetables. They have 4 different types of curry including chicken curry, fish curry, crab curry. My favourite was definitely the fish curry. As for the rice, they also have briyani rice. We also ordered fried squid ring as well as chicken 65 and it is delicious. However the squid ring and chicken 65 is no longer crispy. The teh tarik lawa is very delicious though. My family loves it.

PappaRich, a truly Malaysian restaurant
I had the chance to finally try PappaRich, a famous Malaysian chain restaurant. They have many branches all over the world including in the United Kingdom, in the United States where they have branches in New York, Jakarta Indonesia and many more! I think this is one of the local restaurant abroad where you get the most authentic taste of Malaysia.
We ordered Char Kuey Teow, Chicken Rice and Wan Tan Hor and honestly, it is super delicious! My favourite is definitely the Char Kuey Teow. The portion is very huge too so you'll be super full. We also ordered the roti bakar and i just love how buttery it tastes. Apart from that, they also have dimsum and dumplings too!
The environment is pretty nice and comfortable to and it's perfect for a chill lunch. Price wise, it's more on the pricier side since its a restaurant but if you're looking for a place to chat and relax with your friends, this is the perfect place.

Highlights - they have 24 variety of sambals with different
spicyness level and you can choose according to your
spicyness tolerance. they have 23 different Indonesian
dishes and ITS DELICIOUS!! my favourite would be their ayam bakar and sambal udang, must try!
Avg. Price per Person - average around RM16+ depends on the set menu

One of the Best Nasi Kandar in KL
I finally tried Mohd Yaseem Nasi Kandar and in my opinion, this is one of the best nasi kandar in Kuala Lumpur. It is located at Chow Kit and is accessible by public transport too. Went there twice, once by public transport and once by car. If you're using LRT, you can stop at Sultan Ismail LRT Station and walk for 7 mins to this nasi kandar place. Parking is quite difficult to find there, hence we choose to use public transport the second time.
There's variety of nasi kandar dishes here, ranging from fried chicken to telur sotong to udang masak sambal and many more. You can also add on vegetables such as fried cabbage, poached lady finger and many more. Don't forget to request for extra gravy or kuah banjir as it tastes super delicious when there's a lot of gravy. Just tell them ' I want kuah banjir '. You can request for papadom too, which i think is the perfectly combination to eat with nasi kandar. Hence, for the first timers, it's very easy and simple to order. Choose your desired protein or dishes, add on vegetables if you want), add the gravy or kuah according to your likings and you can add on papadom! That's it! What makes this nasi kandar different than other nasi kandar place ive been to is the gravy or kuah. It tasted balanced and just nice since it's not too sweet nor too spicy. We Malaysians called it surrrrr.
Price wise, it is quite reasonable for me. We paid around RM40+ since we requested for extra papadoms but still very affordable to me because we are super full after we had our lunch there. There's also variety of dishes you can choose and it tasted delicious too! If you're around Chow Kit and are looking for food, please drop by and try the nasi kandar here.

Eat like locals at Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur
Wanna eat good food like a local? Kampung Baru is the perfect place for you to try! You're surrounded by various restaurants and cafes and all you have to do is choose which one you like. Some of the restaurants that i've personally tried are Rosdet Tomyam and Warung Che Senah.
Warong Che Senah (pic 1,2,3)
Warong Che Senah located in Kampung Baru is the perfect place to chill out with your friends at night. It's a restaurant with vendor that sells various type of food such as seafood, satay, western food, local foods and dessert. We ordered sotong celup tepung as well as kerang bakar and it was good and portion is quite big. Apart from that, you also get to chill with your friends with the Twin Tower view as shown in pic 5 if you manage to come early and good spot.
Rosdet Tomyam (pic 6)
Rosdet Tomyam is famous for their tomyam and seafoods! As you can see from the second photo, it's their famous cockle known as Kerang Bakar that comes with their own homemade sauce. The seafood here is spicy and delicious and taste authentic just like the one in Thailand as i was told the chef here is originally from Thailand.

One of my favorites is Loong Kee restaurant. This restaurant has an interesting menu and big variety of food to choose from, especially seafood. One of their signature dish you must try is Soup Live Kapa Claim or Lala soup.
Lala soup taste is fantastic; bit spicy because its boils with fresh chili and on with fresh basil leave. Crispy pork is also nice, and the steam fish is super good.

Charming Blue Ice Cream Store: Gio Gelato JB
When you visit Johor, it's likely that you will pass by a charming blue ice cream shop called Gio Gelato. It can be found inside City Square Mall, accessed through the bridge connecting JB Sentral to City Square's Mall KFC area. Every time I go there, I find myself irresistibly drawn to this aesthetically pleasing ice cream shop.
.
Lately, I've developed a strong liking for all things avocado, so I decided to try their Avocado flavour and top it with Salted Pistachio ice cream. It not only helps me beat-the-heat but also allows me to indulge in a healthier alternative amidst all the not-so-healthy.. eh... food... haha. 🥲😅
.
I highly recommend you to give it a try when you visit JB, especially under the Hot Hot day! The flavours they offer are pretty fantastic. Personally, I'm eyeing the Coconut sorbet for my next visit. 🤣

Malacca Cuisines, TsuenWan, HK
Malacca Cuisine, located in Kolour Place, Tsuen Wan, as the name suggests, specializes in Malaysian dishes. Must-orders are:
Hainanese chicken rice, the chicken is fresh and smooth, served with three traditional dipping sauces;
Bak Kut Teh, the pork is very drizzled but the soup is bland and not enough herbs;
Prawn laksa, the portion is big but the taste is light;
Penang prawn noodles, big portion but not enough spice;
Curry pork chop rice, the pork chop is very crunchy, the curry sauce is delicious but not spicy.
I also ordered snacks, Nyonya spiced meat rolls and fried fish. The portion is small and tasty, but not Malay.
Overall, the restaurant is quick to produce, the service is good and the food is good too, but it still needs to work hard to make real authentic Malaysia taste.
