New mall in KL: The Exchange, TRX
Very big mall with lots of branded stores. The interior and Christmas decorations are worth to have a look.
There is an outdoor garden and playground at the top floor. A place that kids will love to spend time there hahhaha but as it just opened less than a month will need to encounter bad traffic before reaching 😅
Ps: Chanel is having perfume function there for Dec, it's a good spot to take some good photos!

Pebbly Beach in Nice, France 🇫🇷
#timetotravel
This beach definitely CHANGED my perception about beaches because why are beaches pebbly in old nice???
I made the mistake of not wearing a pair of waterproof, closed toes shoes on this trip and it was tricky getting into / getting out of the water because my feet was stuck in the pebbles and it hurts just walking on the pebbles.
I visited during June and the water was still quite chilly but anyhow we rented sun beds from Hôtel Amour Beach and got a bottle of rose 🍷 to enjoy in the sun ☀️

#nice #summer2022
The deep blue waters of the Cote d’Azur are the dramatic backdrop for elegant Nice. Breathe in the fresh Mediterranean air as you stroll the famous Promenade des Anglais, be charmed by the quaint streets of Old Town, or get a panoramic view of the whole city from atop Castle Hill. Indulge in classic Provençal dishes and wines in one of the city’s intimate cafes or bustling brasseries.
Ramada Resort by Wyndham Golden Beach
Staying here for 2 nights with my partner, a short trip in Sunshine Coast. The check in was quick and the staffs were friendly. We got a very nice, quiet room away from the lifts. It’s equipped with a small kitchen, enough for making your meals. The bathroom was spacious with a spa bath. The balcony with a view was my favourite. It’s just so relaxing to sit there enjoying a drink or morning breakfast. The sunrise view was really nice. We also tried kayaking as it’s included in our package. It’s a glass-bottom one and we did enjoy our time as the water was so calm and clear. They also offered a one time 10% dining credit in the Thai restaurant in the hotel. We did tried and it’s quite good too. Overall although the hotel was a bit dated, we still enjoyed our stay there. I highly recommended as it’s good value of money for a short holiday.

Lake Tekapo & Church of Good Shepherd
On a sunny day, we drove from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo. It took about three hours. We came across some small towns on the way but we had no time to stop.
When we arrived, we walked to the historic Church of the Good Shepherd. This small stone church is very unique. If you want to go inside, you must pay attention to the opening hours: Tuesday morning 9-8pm; Sunday 4pm-5pm. We arrived on Wednesday so we didn't get a chance to visit. Then we walked along The Tekapo Lake, the lake was calm, very blue, very beautiful! The Church and the Lake were such scenic spots that worth taking more photos.
If you have plenty of travel time, or if you like stargazing, you can consider staying one night to participate in stargazing or soaking in hot springs for a fee.

Musée des Arts Asiatiques de Nice
The Asian Museum in Nice is a great activity. The museum is 10 minutes away by tram (1,50euros per solo trip) from place Masséna. The museum is next to a garden, it is nice to visit with family. The museum is free for everyone ( just has to give the zip code). The museum is very spacious (there are 3 floors). The museum collection is varied with some pieces from 1970 and some pieces from the 10th century. I would recommend to visit the museum on Sunday afternoon as shops are closed on Sundays in France.
There is a hokusai showing until February 2023. The showing is located on the basement. It is worth going just to see the hokusai.
Please note that since covid the café has been closed. There is also a souvenir shops with beautiful books next to the exit.

Nice is a great contender for a city break. It offers everything you’d expect from a trip to France and more.
It’s great for families, couples or solo travellers. It is definitely more on the higher end of one’s budget however, we think it will be worth it.
We suggest you couple this amazing destination with other local favourites such as Monaco or Cannes.
Looking at our experience, we think Nice is a great option for anyone looking to explore the French Riviera. You’ll be stunned by the views from the Castle Hill and be amazed by the truly blue French coast.
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Try a Local Favourite – Niçoise Salad
#celebratewithtrip #nice #france #goodfood #restaurant
Nicoise salad - This one is a must. I had to try this local salad, although nothing one can’t replicate at home. It’s a standard salad served with a boiled egg, anchovies and a sprinkle of tuna.
It felt fishy but not overpowering the dish and overall not a heavy lunch.
We tried beignets, French doughnuts, an apple turnover which felt homemade however, lacked some filling and had a raspberry tarte which was amazing. The tanginess from the raspberries matched the sweetness from the tarte.
Another thing worth looking out for especially if you are a fan of onions is the pissaladiere which is a focaccia style bread with caramelised onions and anchovies. I tried it, it was ok, nothing special in the sense that the onions will overpower everything else.

We went to this restaurant whilst we were in Nice. We were looking at something that is decently priced and also with a good variety of seafood options.
This restaurant came across as a good choice. The ambiance was nice, the food was great and we had a nice view towards port Lympia in Nice.
The service was hit and miss to be honest. Most of the staff members seemed very new and a bit clueless but the food was great which compensated for this.

Marcel Bistro Chic is overall a good choice if you want to try typical French cuisine. It also boasts proudly some awards listed on their façade.
They have pretty much most of the popular classics. From coq au vin to beef bourguignonne and even some of the more interesting frog legs or foie gras.
I had the beef bourguignonne and Hristina had the coq au vin. Both very nice and well cooked. The sauces were thick and the wine sauce was full of depth and flavour.
Word of advice - be prepared to wait for a table as this is a popular place and tables go quickly. It's located on a cosy little street and the ambiance is great.

Cimiez Monastery: peace, beauty and contemplation
Cimiez Monastery, with the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and the Franciscan Museum, is worth a visit. The monastery looks really nice on the inside. When we went it was rather quiet, so a good opportunity to stay in peace for a bit and relax after a tiring morning of exploring Nice.
The garden of the Monastery, with its rose garden and Mediterranean plants, is beautiful with a view that embraces a large part of the city, all the way to the sea. Henri Matisse, Roger Martin du Gard and Raoul Dufy are buried in the adjacent cemetery.
The Monastery is without doubt the most emblematic site in Cimiez and we really enjoyed our time there.

Les Arènes de Cimiez are an expansive park with a vast olive grove, includes the ruins of a Roman city, an archaeology museum and the Monastery of Cimiez, with its church and cloister. The monastery gardens are also very beautiful and worth a visit.
Elegant apartment buildings fill the area, including the regal late-1800s Excelsior Regina Palace.
The park is beautiful and it was amazing to see so many people and families having picnics and lots of fun at the museum.
We were also amazed by the amount of olive trees all over the park. Not sure we have seen so many olive trees in a public space before.
Lots of people were playing bocca which was nice to see, so we stopped for a moment to admire that as well.

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Beautiful cathedral in Nice, France 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #france #nice #cathedral
Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas de Nice
The Cathedral features typical Russian motifs with the iconic onion domes and bright paint colours. It reminded us of the Russian Church in Sofia, Bulgaria.
We really enjoyed the architecture and felt it was a must see in Nice.
The cathedral, consecrated in December 1912 in memory of Nicholas Alexandrovich, Tsarevich of Russia, who died in Nice, was meant to serve the large Russian community that had settled in Nice by the end of the 19th century, as well as devout visitors from the Imperial Court.
We visited the cathedral on our last day in Nice on a Sunday during the mass. It was full of people from different nationalities, all sharing the same Orthodox religion.
The cathedral is very beautiful on the outside and nicely done on the inside.
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Orthodox cathedral in Nice, France 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #nice #france #cathedral
This is a property of the Russian Federation, it is recognized as a national monument of France, and it currently belongs to the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate. It is the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe.
The cathedral was opened in 1912, thanks to the generosity of Russia’s Tsar Nicholas II. From 1931 until 15 December 2011 (after a longstanding legal dispute over ownership was resolved), the parish that occupied the cathedral was part of the Paris-based Patriarchal Exarchate for Orthodox Parishes of Russian Tradition in Western Europe under the jurisdiction of the Church of Constantinople.
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Fort du Mont Alban, Nice, France 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #nice #france #fort
Amazing views and a must go when in Nice. We visited this on our last day. Went there by public transport. The ticket is just 1.5 euros or you can get a day card with unlimited trips for 5 euros.
We climbed a steep hill to get to the Fort but at the end it was totally worth it. The Fort is rather impressive but it was closed when we were there, so we could only go around and admire the views.
Built by order of Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy, between 1557 and 1560, Fort du Mont Alban is one of the most exemplary French military architectural structures dating back to the 16th century.
The purpose of its construction was, of course, of military nature: to reinforce the defense line considerably debilitate as a result of the siege of Nice (in 1543). But what is striking about Fort du Mont Alban is it has survived, as said, in good condition, despite the fact it was considerably affected in World War Two.

Enjoy the views from Mount Alban & Fort
On this mountain you will be able to find the 16th century fort with the same name which protected the nearby areas as well as stunning views of Port Lympia and the nearby gulfs.
The fort was closed when we went there but that didn’t stop us from enjoying this spectacular view.
From there you can proceed through the forest. Walking down the hill you will notice that this area is a like a public garden with plenty of picnic benches and recreational game areas.
To be enjoyed on a sunny Sunday for sure! Amazing place :)
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Beautiful waterfall in Nice 🇫🇷
#celebratewithtrip #france #nice #mustgo #beautiful
This place is an absolute must. It's a lot of climbing but definitely worth the climb and the sweat.
The waterfall is located in a landscape garden surrounding the 11th century citadel. An artificial waterfall with a garden was created in the first half Nineteenth century on the initiative of Karl Felix of the Savoy.
Once you are here you will be able to gaze at the view which covers the city of Nice. Here you will be able to see the old city centre, Hotel Le Negresco and even the airport in the far.
On the other side, you will also be able to see the Marina (Port Lympia) with all the yachts lined up waiting to set sail on their next voyage.
Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) The view from Castle Hill, Nice
#celebratewithtrip #france #nice
As the name suggests there will be some climbing involved. Not to worry for those with low fitness levels, it’s not as intense as you might think. At the end of the hike you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view of the city and sea.
We’ve noticed also some little tourist train buses which go up. They could also be a viable option if you don’t feel like climbing.
We recommend you approach the hill from the North as it has less of a steep climb. The climb from the beach is done through some stairs which can be steep for some.
On the way up you will also be able to see some of the ruins from the old citadel although only the foundations. Below the view point you will also see an artificial waterfall. A good spot to take photos for sure

The Marché Aux Fleurs Cours Saleya is situated parallel to the Quai des États-Unis. In the past, it belonged to the upper classes. It is probably the most traditional square of the town, with its daily flower market.
Although it started off as a flower market, nowadays you can also buy sourvenirs and different food produce or even sit down at one of the nearby restaurants and watch walkers passing by.
We actually bought a local specialty called Socca, a chickpea style pancake. We talk more about it in the Food and Drinks section.Definitely pay a visit but do go in the morning. In the afternoon the stalls are gone and the place is occupied by tables and chairs from the cafes and restaurants nearby.
