HUE Restaurant - Thai Cuisine with a Twist
As stated on their website - “we are a lifestyle destination that redefines the modern Thai dining experience with simple tweaks and unique twists” and I would say that HUE, a 100% lives up to it. Even from their exterior/interior, the brightly-lit, eye-catching concept brings out a certain new age kind of stylishness to the restaurant, which makes it a suitable dining experience for both couples and groups of friends or family gathering together.
Familiar Thai dishes are skillfully whipped up using only the freshest ingredients and then with a modern twist, transforms into a seemingly new dish with flavours that would excite your taste buds. Each item on the menu is playfully named and well-plated, definitely a feast for also the eyes.
Tip: They have a promotion whereby you purchase your first bottle from them and you can BYO second bottle with corkage waived! But of course, do check with them before heading down to ensure promotion is still valid.

Looking within the citadel of Hue's Imperial City
Learn about the Ngyuen dynasty through this UNESCO World Heritage site. You may like to rent the Vietnamese traditional costumes for your photo ops while you walk through the pavilions and gardens. If you'd like to visit the temples, you'd need to dress appropriately to enter. 2-2.5 hours would be sufficient to cover the main sights. We chose to visit in the morning to avoid the afternoon sun, given the limited shelter. #hue

Peaceful Moments at Minh Mang Tomb, Hue
Minh Mang is the second king of Nguyen Dynasty - the last empire in Vietnam. He was best known as a strict and determined king, who ruled the country by the laws. He also had the most children in Vietnam royal history, approximately 142 babies.
The tomb reflected the lifestyle and characteristics of the King when he was alive. The architecture was symmetrical from beginning till the end, in a harmony way with nature landscapes around.

Chilling Vibes in Tu Duc Tomb, Hue, Vietnam
King Tu Duc Tomb in Hue, Vietnam.
This is one of the most famous tombs from Nguyen Dynasty - the last empire in Vietnam. King Tu Duc had no children, and he was the only King out of 13 Nguyen Kings that still lived after the tomb was completely constructed and used this tomb as a second palace for 16 years.
King Tu Duc is also a poet, so its architecture is breathtaking with chilling vibes.

What is interesting about Hue in the winter?
If you love the cold and want to see the romantic rain of Hue, the winter from September to December will be the most beautiful time of Hue tourism.

Things to Do in Hue
Hue is actually known for its tasty cuisine, so when you are thinking of how long should you stay in the city, add at least one more day only to eat your way around.
Hue is a well-preserved city situated on the banks of Perfume River, rich on royal ancient tombs, beautiful countryside, lively atmosphere, delicious food, illustrious history, all of that very close to other popular destinations in Vietnam, such as Danang or Hoi An.
I love places where it is possible to spend time actively, learn more about the past, and eat well, it is not surprising that Hue was one of the favorite places in Vietnam.

Hue, The Most Walkable City in Vietnam
Hue City is by far my favorite city in Vietnam. Hue had been the capital of Vietnam during the the rule of Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 until 1945. And this is why Hue is different from any other city in Vietnam.
I took a train from Hanoi to Hue, it was an overnight train so I arrived to Hue at 6am. Sun rises early in Vietnam so it was already bright outside. Since I didn’t have heavy luggage with me, I decided to walk because the railway station is located in the city center.
I was happily surprised with existence of sidewalks in Hue and the cleanliness of the place. I walked along the main road which was heading along the riverside so I decided to visit the riverside. Days start early in Vietnam, because the riverside was full of people at 6am, people were exercising and enjoying cool morning.
After walking for a bit, I got hungry so I went to a nearby coffee shop. I chose Highlands Coffee because they sell cakes and sandwiches as well and I needed to have some breakfast.
Later on I checked into my hotel, dropped off my luggage and headed to explore more of Hue. I walked across the river towards The Imperial City, the historic royal.city. It was very nice to walk around there.
In the evening I headed over to the beer street and had dinner, the beer street was closed off from traffic and turned into a walking street, which was nice.
The next day I took a tour of the Huda Beer Factory and took a private car tour to explore all the nearby temples and tourist attractions.
In the evening I took a walk along the Perfume River and enjoyed the view of colorful bridges.
I enjoyed Hue because it is the only city in Vietnam which is great for walking.
Enjoy your trip to Hue City 😊

Enjoy peacefulness at Nano Eco-Hostel
Nano Eco-Hostel is one of its kind place in the whole Vietnam. It is located 20 minutes drive from Hue city and is located next to a famous tourist attraction, a Thua Thien abandoned water park.
Nano Eco-Hostel is a cozy family run business, it was designed by them since one of the owners is an architect.
Every room offers a spectacular view of the lake and mountains. Most of the rooms are big and spacious dorms, there’s also a private room and that’s where we stayed.
Nano Eco-Hostel offers a salt water swimming which is an ecological way to filter the water in the pool.
We had breakfast included in our room rate so we had the pleasure to have authentic Vietnamese Ice Milk Coffee (Ca Phe Sua) with an amazing egg sandwich every day for breakfast.
We enjoyed hanging out by the pool, swinging in a hammock, listening to music and enjoying peacefulness at Nano Eco-Hostel.
You can also enjoy an authentic local village Nano Eco-Hostel is located in.
Stay at Nano Eco-Hostel during your next trip to Hue and take pictures at an abandoned waterpark 😊

Y Thao Garden
Located in Hue, Danang; this restaurant offer a very nice concept of local food where it is serve in a design using technique such as craved vegetables and fruits. There is option of set menu for 2, but in local language. In the end me and my friend just pick anyhow. The waitress here doesn't really understand english despite fact that many foreigners came here to have their meal; me and my friends couldn't communicate with the staffs properly.
At least they understand our body language and can explain dish name in english. Its such a nice and enjoyable meal although I can say that this is most expensive one that I tried in Hue.

A unique Dragon Structure in Vietnam
Hồ Thủy Tiên (Thuy Tien Lake) is a smallish natural lake located about 8km south of Hue’s Imperial City. An old entertainment complex that nowadays is abandoned.
Here you can find the famous dragon structure.
The park is currently open and unattended – we had no trouble moving around as we wished. You can even climb a staircase to the top of the dragon’s head.
The entrance fee is around 1$ each, no proper tickets are given, since is not a legal activity. The guard that should take care of the area accepts 1$ to let you visit the dragon. #Vietnam #hue

The breakfast room was next to the central pool, and the lodging itself was a classic forest resort concept, so it was very beautiful to be surrounded by forests and ponds.

#Hue style rice noodles
Hue is famous for its local style rice noodles! Vietnamese people say that they come to Hue to eat rice noodles like they do on a trip to Gyeongju, so I should give it a try! It was very good to wake up on a cold morning with a little spicy taste between the crunchy chives and meatballs. That's why I bought a lot of rice noodles after a minute at the mart haha
Banh xeo and banh mi, which I ordered at every meal, were included in the menu at the breakfast room, so it was really surprising.
If it hadn't been raining, we would have eaten outside. I went in January, the coldest month, so if you go after that, you should be able to dine on the terrace above the pond with a view of the outdoor forest!

In Hue, just book a day trip (you can choose the vehicle; bus+boat, motorcycle, car) then, you can finish the most famous attractions there!! FYI. The price is quite cheap :) but please prepare for hot weather.
