A trip to Hiroshima, a major regional city in Japan with lots to see and delicious food!
I went on a trip to Hiroshima with friends at the end of January this year~~ I have lived in Japan for 7 years, but Hiroshima was a new region for me, so I was very excited as it felt like I was traveling in Japan for the first time in a while! Haha
(Some of my friends were also visiting Hiroshima for the first time, and many said they had never really traveled there before, so we all shared the same excitement. Keke)
The atmosphere of Hiroshima city is quite unique, I remember. The streetcars, which are often seen in Japanese regional cities, are incredibly well-developed, and the city, rather than being bright and flashy like Osaka or Tokyo, had a strong regional city feel with moderately tall buildings and small neighborhoods mixed in just right!
The tourist spots include Hiroshima Castle, Shukkeien Garden which is a short walk away, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and Miyajima Island, which is a bit far but has a variety of attractions! The tourist spots in the center of Hiroshima are great for those interested in history as there are many places where you can experience the history before and after the atomic bomb!!
Personally, the most enjoyable place was Miyajima! It's perfect for a date with a loved one or a family outing! Enjoying a cup of tea in an atmospheric teahouse overlooking the sea, a variety of seafood dishes including oysters, a beautiful view from the top by cable car, and a compact shopping street - it was so nice to have all these fun places on one island! If I travel to Hiroshima again, it's definitely a place I want to visit again!
The food was also incredibly delicious... Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with yakisoba noodles underneath was different from the one in Osaka and tasted great... Dishes like butter-sautéed oysters and vegetables, and sea eel rice bowl I had in Miyajima... I was so satisfied to eat many unique dishes... Oh, and the Hiroshima tsukemen that I couldn't capture in photos... You must try this if you get the chance... It's really delicious...
Hiroshima has a different flavor from the big cities like Osaka, Tokyo, and Fukuoka, and it also has a somewhat rustic feel! I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance~~ Haha

I like rainy Yufuin too.
It rained on my trip to Yufuin ☔️, where I'm usually a weather fairy, but I was disappointed that it rained cats and dogs on the day I hoped it wouldn't rain the most. However, I was thankful to see the misty Lake Kinrinko in the afternoon, and Yufuin's streets are full of sights, so it was beautiful just walking around!

📍Key Points
It's a chain from a famous pork cutlet restaurant in Kyoto. There was a waiting line when I visited, but it moved surprisingly fast, and I waited less than 30 minutes. There are chairs to sit on in front of the store. Honestly, the pork cutlets themselves are average? There are many delicious pork cutlet restaurants in Korea. But the crab cream croquette and miso soup are really delicious! It's not just some miso soup from a convenience store like Mononoke Mart, the croquette and miso soup were so impressive that I want to give a good score.
