BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY ANGLE
The Rome tourist attraction that I enjoyed the most was without a doubt the Colosseum. It is truly breathtaking, amazing, and enormous.
The Roman Colosseum, sometimes called the Flavian Amphitheatre, is one of the most outstanding structures in the city. Over 6 million people visit it annually.
Even though it is now in ruins, the Roman Coliseum never ceases to astound us with its immense size and beauty, which is why it has been regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World since 2007.
The Roman Colosseum has come to represent Rome around the world and has developed over time into a historical and archaeological gem that can serve as a reminder of the Roman Empire's grandeur.

THE ANCIENT COLOSSEUM
Rome's most iconic landmark is the Colosseum. It is a massive building with approximately two thousand years of history that will transport you back in time to learn about Roman Empire life.
The Colosseum was built starting in the year 72 under Vespasian's empire and was completed in the year 80 under Titus' control. The Colosseum was the largest Roman amphitheater when it was finished, with dimensions of 188 meters in length, 156 meters in width, and 57 meters in height.
The Flavian Amphitheatre, formerly known as the Roman Colosseum, was able to accommodate more than 50,000 spectators under the Roman Empire, when the slogan was "Bread and Circuses." The Roman populace was entertained for years by displays of exotic animals, executions of prisoners, recreations of battles, and gladiator contests.
Over 500 years passed while the Colosseum was in use. The sixth century saw the celebration of the last games known to history.

Giant Buddha near Chengdu - Must Visit
#createwithtrip to Chengdu must include a day to visit the Giant Buddha at Leshan.
The Buddha is a 71m tall stone statue, built during the 8th Century (Tang Dynasty), facing Mount Emei, with the min River and Dadu River flowing below its feet. It is the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world.
To get there, best to hire a car for a day. Prepare for a large crowd as it is a very popular tourist site. Queue system is in place and normal wait time to get to the top of the statue is 60-120 mins wait. Follow the crowd, to work your way from the top of the statue and eventually get to the feet of the statue.

A Key Heritage Site in Kyoto - Kinkaku-ji
#createwithtrip to Kyoto is incomplete if you do not visit Kinkaku-ji, Temple of the Golden Pavilion. Located within the grounds is a very popular building - Shari-den Kinkaku, the actual Golden Pavilion.
This building is best viewed and photographed from across the lake. Pre-pandemic, there is always a huge crowd trying to take photos from the popular spot. Thus, best to go early to avoid the huge crowd.
One tip, it’s better to buy the bus day pass vs. buying the subway day pass as buses get closer to most sites. For the key bus routes, recorded announcements in multiple languages are made when the bus approaches key tourist sites.
