A Hiking Adventure In South Australia
Planning a trip to Australia and love to see the amazing rainforest and trails with waterfalls and view from above? South Australia is one of the place to be where you can do a road trip from Melbourne to Australia and cover these places that we go to!
Firstly from Melbourne we made our way to Grampians Nationa Park where we hike our way to the popular Mackenzie Falls, to get here there is a flight of long stairs all the way down to the basin of the falls, and of course what goes down must come up! Also while you are in grampians, be sure to head to the Pinnacle Lookout, it is recommended to go there on a brand new day as this hike isn't easy and could take you up to 5hours to go up and back down! But the view there is magnificent!
Thereafter we hiked up towards grampian national park to get a glimpse of the waterfalls from above, we also made a Pitstop at Umpherston Sinkhole where its just a short hike down to the hole to see the beautifully decorated Sinkhole.
Do make sure you plan your trip before you head there and ensure that you give ample time for rest stop, photo takings and break to enjoy this hiking adventure!

The easiest route to The Pinnacle departs from the Sundial carpark within the national park and ascends to The Pinnacle via Devils Gap. When you are in South Australia, many fitness enthusiasts will head to the popular grampian national park which is located 3hrs 30mins drive away from Melbourne and its a popular retreat for both locals and tourists due to its many beautiful mountain backdrops, views from above and waterfalls.
You should make Mackenzie Fall a bucket list when visit grampian due to its 24/7 strong flow of water from the falls, also the many amazing photos you can take at this falls. But to get to this falls, it's easy as there are steps heading all the way down to the falls and you will be just right beside this spectacular waterfall. Don't be surprise that you have to queue up for your turn to take a photo from the viewpoint, you can also hop across the rocks to take it from another angle.
So, getting out from this falls is the tough part, because the only way out of this fall is where you come down from, the insane amount of steps which makes a total of 260 steps with a total distance of 2km return. But overall this hike is doable by many, I do see kids too!
