🌁 Magnificent City Views at Grand Rama VI Bangkok
#exploreasia
📍 Grand Tower Rama VI Hotel
💲 Price per night: THB550 (not inclusive of breakfast)
Highlights:
⭐ Close Proximity to Chatuchak Market
⭐ Amazing City View for rooms on high floor (taken from Floor 22)
⭐Rooftop Pool (empty for most of the day)
This hotel is pretty dated, but still has it's olden days charm. Most of their guests are Thai locals. Unfortunately the receptionist though friendly, can't speak English. Although the bathroom facilities can be improved, the price is reasonable for a short stay near Chatuchak.

A Weekend Market In Bangkok - Chatukchak
There are so many weekend markets in Bangkok. But the ever famous market among tourists will be the Chatukchak Weekend Market located at 587, 10 Kamphaeng Phet 2 Rd, Khwaeng Chatuchak, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand. And although on Google it stats that weekday it is open, I recommend you to head there on weekend instead where most or if not all shops are open.
Head there somewhere between close to lunch so as to ensure each and every shop in the entire market is open. Chatukchak alone contains more than 15,000 stalls where vendors will be seen selling wooden utensils, porcelain plates and cups, shirts for baby kids and adults, souvenirs, Thailand snacks and also an area dedicated just for food alone.
Do prepare to withstand the hot sun, as it can get really scorching hot due to the afternoon sun rays, but fret not there are many drinks stalls here to cool you down too! Give yourself a minimum of 2 or 3 hours to cover all the shops in chatukchak weekend market.

Chatuchak Weekend Market
We visited several outdoor markets and night markets during our stay in Bangkok, but I definitely recommend Chatuchak Weekend Market. It is located right outside Kamphaeng Phet MRT Blue Line station. The market covers a pretty large area, although many of the shops in the inner alleyways were closed when we visited. We still found the prices to be better than many other touristy markets and managed to pick up some souvenirs for friends and family.

A day at the world-famous Chatuchak
#bangkok
Can someone honestly say they've been to Bangkok without going to the Chatuchak Weekend Market at least once? It's massive. It has everything.
Chatuchak Weekend Market is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It is the LARGEST market in Thailand. With over 11,500 vendors, 15,000 stalls spread over 27(!!) huge sections, there is always something for everyone. Each section itself is gigantic - and splits into different alleyways inside, each keeping a hidden secret or good find.
I recommend spending at least 2 to 3 hours here, and pausing for a meal in between. There is no shortage of eateries here, but I had some great Basil Chicken Rice and Beef Soup at Saman Islam, which just happens to be Halal, and right beside the clock tower.
How to get to Chatuchak Weekend Market:
- Take the BTS to Mo Chit BTS Station, it's about a 3-5 minute walk from the station.
Tips:
- Stay hydrated, wear shades, bring water.
- Don't be afraid to bargain. The vendors are not pushy; they're friendly
- Follow the large maps around showing you which section features what items.

JJ Pet Market
The pet section at Chatuchak weekend market is located behind Mixt mall. Find MIXT & you will figure ur way there.
There are afew pet shops inside of Mixt mall itself too.
I finally found it after researching online.
The place was huge & kinda smelly. The inner part has more to see. With pets in the air-conditioned shops for all to view thru the glass.
There are all kinds of animals from fishes, turtles, birds to chicken to cats to dogs & even reptiles. There are cute & nice looking bred of British bulldog, Frenchie & Golden Retrievers. And pricing are very affordable & also negotiable if you're really keen on it. After speaking to 1 of the shop owner, it seems like they will only sell to you if you reside in Thailand. I wish I can buy them home.
This is the best place to buy your pet supplies home if you need. Some are negotiable too.
Do take your time to explore as there are alot of interesting stuffs & animals.

Food shopping at Or Tor Kor Market
Or Tor Kor Market
Address - 101 Kamphaeng Phet Rd, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand
Highlights - wide variety of Thai snacks & delicacies
Experience Rating - 🌟🌟🌟🌟 out of 5
We took a taxi to go to this market but if you are more adventurous, you can take the MRT. This is opposite the very famous Chatuchak Weekend Market.
This indoor market boasts of a wide range of fresh produce & food, packed snacks and a food court where you can sample all the great local dishes. We went there mainly to buy snacks to take home. We still had other places to go to so we didn’t have extra time to eat there - perhaps next time… and also when the Covid threat subsides. This place is also clean and well-maintained.
I have no basis for comparison in terms of their pricing so I cannot comment on that. We did, however, managed to buy dried fruits and the crispy pork snacks which are cheaper there than in the grocery we went to. One should also try their pork sausages on stick.
We went here in 2019 before Covid hit. I know this market is still open but am not aware of the safety protocols implemented inside. I hope to visit again so I can share latest information with all of you. But, if you happen to travel to Bangkok, make sure you visit this place.

Thai SKZ concert
Went to Thailand because of the SKZ concert last Feb. It was an amazing experience too because we got to rent a car and experience the road of Thailand. Its a bit confuse but we still survive at least. It was fun too. We went to Platinum Mall and Chatuchak Market. It wasn't weekend so we can't see much at Chatuchak. We went to Platinum Mall and eat. The food was delicious and awesome 😍🍲#chatuchak
