The Beijing Planetarium is the first large-scale planetarium in China. It is located at 138 Xizhimen Whai Street, Xi Cheng District, Beijing. It is open from Tuesday-Sunday 9:00Am to 4:30pm. As an advanced education base, it aims at teenagers' science popularization and public astronomical exhibition. When we visited The Planetarium, there were many kindergarten students with their teachers. I was amazed how they introduced the planets and some things to the children. It was quite interesting.

Griffith’s Telescope
opened in 1935, #griffithobservatory gives you the best view of #losangeles. 👼🏻 after browsing through astronomical exhibits about solar eclipses, tides, and related instruments, you can watch a film at the oschin #planetarium. 🪐 at night, you can even look through the very 12-inch zeiss telescope that griffith himself looked through! 🔭 it is said to be the most looked through telescope by the public. 👀

Finally Checking Out THE Shanghai Planetarium
Excited about this place ever since they announced they were building it, finally able to purchase tickets and wow..the crowds…
It is a branch of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum so it is expected to have a very educational flow throughout their exhibits. All signs are bilinguals so it helps, too! Overall impressive display of astronomical science exhibits and will be more enjoyable with less crowd.
There’s not much else around the area, so can easily make it a day trip. 2-3hrs inside the planetarium and maybe a cab ride to Dishui Lake area to take a stroll along the lake, just to make the hours spent on the metro ride worth it :)
Tips: when buying the tickets through their Wechat page (foreigners can use passport ID), remember to also book the ‘movie ticket’. It’s limited to 50 seats per show.
Getting There - Line16 Dishui Lake stop + 10mins walk.
Attractions - planetarium. Science exhibition.
Hotels - not necessary. Can easily make it a day trip.
Food & Restaurants - only have 2 cafe & restaurants inside the planetarium, no restaurant nearby (unless you’re willing to take a cab, there’s a New Zealand restaurant called Kiwiana not too far).
Shopping - there’s souvenirs shop inside the planetarium.

Planetarium EC1
I had some nice time there earlier this week. The film was okay, easy to understand, especially for children. It's great that after the film there's possibility to ask some questions connected with space and universe and the demonstrator answers them or shows extra material on the subject.
Good to see: You can join the introductions to the planet in several kind of projection. For example winter sky; Sky about Lodz ect.
Additional they offer the music presentation of famous group in the planetarium. Unfortunate I did joint Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of The Moon , but it must be good fun to be there during the movie.
