Mataking island 🏝️
Mataking Island in Semporna was our second spot to visit on our island hopping tour. Mataking is another paradise in the area, offering white sand beaches and turquoise waters too.
The marine life in Mataking is better than the one in Timba Timba island at least from our own experiences. We were so lucky to see many sea turtles and different types of marine life and coral reefs. Diving or snorkelling here is a must-do.
The island had some small shops selling snacks, fruits and beverages.
Definitely Mataking island is a must visit on your trip to Semporna and island hopping tour is one of the best options!

Excellent International airport. I had a layover of 17hours, long and tiring, yet I was entertained throughout. Had live performances starting midday. There are good amount of restaurants and snacks shops in each zone- east, north and south. Also, there’s many big brand’s working in progress for their opening. The airport building is well constructed with comfortable seats arrangement to provide you ease with long layover. You will easily find plenty of in building hotels for durations ranging from 2 hours to a day. #urbanexplorer #malaysiatravel #celebratewithtrip

Malaysia's oldest sites over a century old
Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is a modern metropolis with plenty to offer tourists. Alongside the iconic Petronas Towers, one of the most popular attractions in Kuala Lumpur is the distinctive Batu Caves.
This impressive and distinctive temple complex may be far from the city center, but you’re really missing out if you don’t visit the Batu Caves while you’re in Kuala Lumpur.
The Batu Caves are a series of caves among limestone hills in the district of Gombak, to the north of Kuala Lumpur, and they combine an interesting natural landscape with a major place of worship and some striking sights.
While the hills are considerable and quite scenic, what makes them special is that they’re home to one of the largest and most popular Hindu shrines in the world outside of India.

Mystical Batu Caves and the Murugan Statue
Batu Caves is a popular Hindu shrine located in Selangor, Malaysia. It is dedicated to Lord Murugan and is the focal point of the Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia. The shrines are located at the foot of a limestone hill, which is said to be around 400 million years old. The cave consists of three main caves and a few smaller ones, and each one features gorgeous Hindu artwork and statues. The main cave is a huge cathedral-like cave, with a 100-meter-high ceiling and a 50-meter-high golden statue of Lord Murugan. It is a popular tourist destination and is well known for its annual Hindu festival Thaipusam.#malaysia #batucaves #batucave #selangor #malaysiatrip #malaysiatravel
Tallest buildings - 9/10 - Petronas Towers
On our quest to visit all the top tallest buildings in the world. We can now tick of the Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Standing at 452 meters, they were once the tallest twin towers in the world and still remain among the top 10 list today, ranking number 9 and 10 for each tower. They offer spectacular views of the city and KLCC park, also well worth a visit. They are undoubtedly one of the most iconic and visually striking architectural marvels in the world, with a unique connecting sky bridge on the 41st and 42nd floors, which offers not only a functional use but adds an interesting visual element to the overall design. 272 colorful steps of Batu Caves!
Bath caves is located in Gombak, Selangor. The limestones forming the caves are more than 400 million years old. The cave housed a temple dedicated to lord Murugan and in 2018, the 272 steps haven been repainted colorfully.
It takes about 20 minutes to climb all the steps to the top and be sure not to bring any food or even plastic bags as there are a lot of monkeys. These monkeys will snatch any plastic bag they see as they think these are food bags. The caves are open from 6am daily so be sure to visit early in the morning to avoid the scorching sun!
Do not wear shorts when entering as this is a religious site.
