Central Observation Wheel during Lunar New Year
At the first day of Lunar New Year, I’ve been to Central Harbour-front, and saw a vibrant atmosphere around the observation wheel that time. It became a spot where family looks so happy taking photos, children played around, couple spent their quality time, and quite many people taking photos while rent traditional costumes. It’s perfect for Lunar New Year celebration. The weather was good, and the seafront breeze completed the happy day.
The wheel can be accessed through Central MTR exit A for you who come by MTR in Hong Kong site. If you are from Kowloon, you can take star ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central. Also if you come from outlying islands.

2023 Year of rabbit - Spring festival in Yiwu
You can see a lot of lanterns🏮everywhere during Spring festival all over China. This time I traveled to Yiwu and took these pictures at Luzhai Residence which is located in Dongyang district.
As spring festival is all about being with family a lot of my friends went to their hometown to be with their family. So I decided to visit Yiwu before coming back to Shanghai to be with the rest of my friends staying in Shanghai.
When I came back we organized a gathering in my apartment and celebrated the spring festival together, as by the tradition it’s all about celebrating with loved ones.

Rabbit Installation at Harbour City
Lunar new year brings a lot of interesting installations and decorations in every corner of Hong Kong. One of excitement spots where people can spend little time and take a good memorable photos of the #yearofrabbit is Harbour City shopping centre. In front of the gate, you can find the rabbits in different colours and sizes. It was nice to see how happy kids climbing at the small rabbit or a family take a photo with the big rabbit full of smile! Happy new year of rabbit!

Colourful Flowers for Chinese New Year
Fresh flower is one of important elements to celebrate Lunar new year in Hong Kong. You can find beautiful colourful flowers at Flower Market in Prince Edward Kowloon.
The market is around four minutes walk from Prince Edward MTR Station Exit B.
I came here in Lunar New Year eve and what I could see was everyone holds fresh flower around the market. Among the flowers, orchids was the most popular flower sold near the new year. It was nice to see beautiful purple, white, yellow orchids in the market, and of course other flowers that make your new year colourful!

Spring In New York
Once the weather warms up, these unmissable things to do in the spring in NYC will give you an excuse to spend some time soaking up the vitamin D. As the flowers begin blooming, New York will be booming with delightful events held in NYC parks as well as NYC street fairs and food festivals in NYC. Plus, get revved for spring's biggest event: the opening of Time Out Market New York in Dumbo.
Witnessing the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s picturesque cherry blossoms is just the icing on the millennial-pink cake when you attend the always crowded Sakura Matsuri. Taiko drummers, samurai-sword masters, J-rock bands and stand-up comics grace the festival’s two stages. You’ll also find a Japanese tearoom, an art gallery, and a mini flea market that hawks mouthwatering Raaka Chocolate, wall scrolls, silk wraps and a profusion of pretty flowers.

Spring comes early in Guangzhou and peach and plum blossoms arrive, appropriately, with Spring Festival. I lived in Guangzhou for three years and I never saw the famous peach garden in Baiyun Mountain 白云山公园 in bloom until I returned for a visit this year. What a pleasant surprise! There were lots of people there but it didn't feel crowded as the peach garden is quite big. Normally access to this part of the park is included in the usual Baiyun Mountain entrance (5RMB) but during the peach blossom season another ticket is required (another 5 kuai); it's well worth the price of admission. In addition to the peach blossoms there are magnolias, bougainvillea and many others. Bring a camera or a picnic and spend a few hours under the pink and white blossoms. The peach grove is roughly in the middle of Baiyun Mountain Park so it will probably take most people an hour to walk there; the east gate near Meihuayuan Metro Station 梅花园地铁站 is the closest, I think (but has a steep stairs-only ascent; the west gate entrance is further but more gradual.) If you're not up to walking there it's possible to take the mini shuttle from the west gate or the top of the cable car. Some parts of the peach garden would not be accessible for those with mobility issues, but the main paths near the gate should be okay.
Time: mid-February
Cost: 10 yuan (5 for park entrance, 5 for garden entrance)
Recommended for: Photographers, lovers, elders, families...

Harbin Spring festival holidays travel
Trip Beijing-Harbin-Changbaishan-Harbin !
9-14 February 2024 year.
We took a fast speed train from Beijing to Harbin and arrived late evening 9 of February. It was Spring festival eve and the city was full of smog because of unstoppable fireworks. We can not breathe.
The two nights we spent at Hilton by Hampton around West railway station. The hotel was good with good breakfast but dry air and smell of smoke were severe.
First day we have visited Pedestrian street, took the cable way to Sun Island and entered to Ice and Snow World at late afternoon. It was quite crowded but still good enough to enjoy the Ice and Snow environment. The lines to the Observation circle and high speed ski were long. It took about 90 minutes to get the seats at the observation circle and we didn’t have power to stay in the line for ski just skip it. I think it’s not big lost because the line takes about 3 hours for us it’s impossible to wait.
The third day we got by high speed train to Changbaishan and it was amazing snowboard 🏂 time. One trouble that also will need take a bus, taxi or rent a car to reach the Changbaishan ski resort. We didn’t now that bus can be available and rent car for round trip to Changbaishan railway station. My daughters first time tried snowboarding.
One advice please will not try regular train because the conditions are very simple and unpleasant. Back to Harbin from Changbaishan we have to seat in regular train and it was crazy hot, nor ventilation and so slow.
The last day in Harbin we were walking on Gogol street and observing the old style buildings then went to Dragon tower and back to Wanda plaza to have tasty dinner in Korean style barbecue bar.
I recommend visit Harbin and enjoy real winter with beautiful attractions! #harbin #springfestival #China
Year of the Dragon Is Coming
Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, falls on 10 Feb this year. It is the most important time of the year for families in Asian countries such as China and Singapore to gather together and celebrate the bright future.
The Chinese zodiac sign for the coming year is the dragon, which is considered a symbol of good luck, making the year all the more welcome. Traditional customs to celebrate the festival include lighting firecrackers, performing lion dances, and decorating streets with lanterns.
Even if you do not live in Asia, you can still experience the festive atmosphere in Chinatowns around the world. So don't hesitate to embrace the spirit of the season and join in the fun!

A free meal.
Winter holidays are on and everybody deserves a break, a visit back home, a simple retreat. Had a peculiar encounter with food delivery service, ordered bagels for breakfast ended up getting Pizza instead 🥴 I would’ve been mad about it but then turned out I could get a refund for my bagels and keep the pizza 😌.
