We checked out Gastown downtown, Canada Place, and many spots with World Cup vibes. 📍Day 8 Sea to Sky|Rain again, cautious kid’s gondola experience It rained again that day, but my son’s most anticipated Britannia Mining Museum visit wasn’t affected at all! He was excited the whole time with the underground mine cart and the BOOM! Show. At Sea to Sky Gondola, the ride was long and high—but my son is a cautious kid. The mountain was quiet with few people, many hiking trails were empty, so we just enjoyed the view and headed back. On the way home, we stopped by a beautiful seaside community. 📍Day 9 Whale watching|Saw humpback whales and orcas!!! We booked with the famous Prince of Whales and saw both humpback whales and orcas, plus sea lions and seals lounging on rocks soaking up the sun. No seasickness at all (but definitely bring a windbreaker and snacks). In the afternoon, we visited Granville Island’s Public Market and Kids Market, ate, shopped for toys, and then headed back. 📍Day 10 Science World|Entered at 11 AM, left at 5 PM So much fun! The whole museum isn’t a highbrow science exhibit—it’s all interactive—touching, pressing, pulling, assembling, stepping—totally gets what kids want. We went in at 11 AM and didn’t leave until almost closing at 5 PM. The shows were great too. Afterward, we took the Aquabus ferry. When the staff learned my son was 5, they sweetly asked if he could be 4 instead (so he could ride free). Taking care of a kid alone isn’t that scary. Kids are actually very cooperative and don’t complain much, as long as they get to play, eat well, and aren’t picky.

18 km, 7 hours, finally checked in at Watersprite Lake. The moment I saw the lake water, I instantly felt it was all worth it. The water is as clear as a gem, surrounded by mountains, as beautiful as stepping into a postcard. There are a total of 3 peaks, but I only visited Peak 1 today. The round trip took 4.5 hours, including half an hour spent lying on the summit. It was quite tiring as the trail is mostly made up of steps, not ideal for people who don't exercise at all. 90% of the trail is shaded by trees, so you won't be exposed to the sun. The final section is challenging to climb and requires using both hands and feet. The hardest part is descending, as the path is very steep. The trail conditions are not easy to navigate, so shoes with strong grip are a must. The scenery is definitely worth the effort! 🏞️

Just a 1-hour drive from downtown Vancouver A truly hidden gem waterfall in Squamish Only a 15-minute walk from the parking lot. The entire trail takes less than 30 minutes to complete, very easy and relaxing. The path is surrounded by old-growth forest with tree roots, moss, vines, and ferns intertwined. On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States' Independence Day, we chose a mountain and sea journey, coming to Vancouver to experience the legendary Sea to Sky Gondola. Traveling along the Sea to Sky Highway, on one side lies the tranquil and vast bay, and on the other, towering mountains reaching the clouds. Boarding the gondola, we slowly ascended to the mountaintop. In just 10 minutes, it felt like completing a journey from the ocean to the sky. As we rose higher, the view gradually unfolded: 🌊 Howe Sound 🌲 Lush green forests 🏔️ Coast Mountains 🪨 The massive Stawamus Chief rock face At this moment, we finally understood why it’s called “Sea to Sky.” At the summit, we walked four trails: ✨ Spirit Loop ✨ Panorama Loop ✨ Alpine Alley ✨ Wonderland Lake Loop Among them, the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge is a must-visit stop. Standing in the middle of the bridge, beneath your feet is the valley, and in the distance, snow-capped peaks and the bay. Between heaven and earth, there is only vastness and tranquility. You can enjoy lunch at the mountaintop restaurant, where the sunlight illuminates the entire valley, and every view is just perfect. ⏰ At 4:50 PM, we took the shuttle back to Vancouver. On the way down, you can also visit Shannon Falls. —— 🌄 About Sea to Sky Gondola: This is a sightseeing gondola connecting the ocean and the mountaintop, taking visitors from the forest base to the summit at about 885 meters high. “Sea” comes from the Howe Sound below, “Sky” comes from the magnificent Coast Mountains above. We've been to Vancouver many times, but this time, with three days and two nights, it felt fresh and new. On one hand, the whole city was filled with football atmosphere during the World Cup; on the other hand, we finally visited North Vancouver and Squamish, checking out places we had never been to before. The overall pace was relaxed, making it especially suitable for families with kids. 🚴Day 1|Cycling in Stanley Park We rented bikes at Joe Bike, which is very conveniently located just a few minutes' walk and across the street from the park. We brought our child's small bike, adults rented bikes, and the child rode their own bike—perfect for family outings. The best way to enjoy Stanley Park is to ride slowly without rushing. Along the way, there are sea views, forests, and city skylines, with plenty of spots to stop and take photos. We rode and played along the way, completing a full loop in about two hours, and the child didn’t feel tired at all. 🚠Day 2|Sea to Sky Gondola + Britannia Mine Museum On the second day, we headed north. After taking the Sea to Sky Gondola up the mountain, the mountain and sea views were breathtaking. We walked two of the easiest trails: Spirit Trail and Panorama Trail, which are very suitable for families and seniors. At the top, there’s a suspension bridge, viewing platforms, and a very comfortable picnic area. Besides large sun umbrellas, there’s a picnic area shaped like a gondola. We recommend bringing some food up the mountain to enjoy while taking in the scenery. There’s also a playground nearby where kids can burn off energy. In the afternoon, we visited the Britannia Mine Museum, one of the most surprising attractions on this trip. Besides learning about the mining history, we watched live equipment demonstrations. The final light show used projections to tell the story of copper mining and smelting, creating a very immersive experience that both adults and kids were fully engaged in. ⚽️Day 3|World Cup City Walk We started from Robson Square and slowly walked along Robson Street towards the stadium. This route is especially great during the World Cup, with fans and football elements everywhere on the street, along with many unique shops, cafes, and sports stores. It’s very comfortable to walk and browse along the way. Along the way, we also stopped at Monet Cafe, which has a beautiful environment and is perfect for a break. Later, because we took a wrong turn, we had an unexpected surprise and ended up at Science World. During the World Cup, the big ball outside was transformed into a giant soccer ball, making it one of the best photo spots on this trip.

The weather in Vancouver has been top-notch this past week! The sunshine is amazing. I recommend a trail that’s about an hour’s drive from the city! 📍Stawamus Chief Provincial Park The trail is in Squamish, with three peaks in total. The order 3-2-1 is easier. This time we hiked up to the viewpoint near Peak 1, and the scenery was already beautiful. Most of the way before Peak 1 is an ascent with stairs and dirt slopes, which can be a bit tiring for beginners, but the views are definitely worth it! You might even spot some squirrels 🐿️ along the way. The parking lot is quite large but can get crowded during peak times, so it’s best to arrive before 10 AM. 🌅 It turns out the most beautiful scenery is often on the way back. Many people focus on the outbound journey to Shannon Falls, Sea to Sky Gondola, and Whistler when traveling the Sea-to-Sky Highway. But actually, the return trip is the gentlest moment of the day. Yesterday, I took a couple on a one-day Sea-to-Sky Highway tour. Due to jet lag, they only left Vancouver at noon and returned to the hotel at 10 PM, yet the day's itinerary was perfectly arranged👍 We visited all the places they wanted to see and were amazed by a beautiful sunset❤️ At Porteau Cove, watching the sea turn golden under the sunset, luxury cars and motorcycles quietly parked by the shore, the sea breeze blowing, everything slowed down. Then we continued to Cypress Lookout, just in time to catch the pink evening glow. In the distance, Mount Baker was draped in a faint pink under the sunset, and the entire city of Vancouver lit up, with the bay, harbor, and skyline all in view. Such scenery needs no filter and is hard to fully capture in photos.
