A fabulous building in a wonderful setting. The grounds, though expansive, aren’t particularly impressive—fine for a stroll or picnic. They seemed a bit too focused on children for my taste. The gardens didn’t stand out much, though the kitchen garden had a variety of vegetables on display, which was interesting for comparing to my own—happily, mine measured up well! Unfortunately, the house wasn’t open during our visit, but it certainly looked fantastic from the outside.

Our stay at this hotel was truly delightful. It’s conveniently located near Liverpool Airport and just a short drive from Speke Shopping Centre. The hotel itself is quite large, featuring a spacious lobby and a welcoming, sizable dining area downstairs. The service was impeccable, with all staff being incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in was very large and comfortable. Even though this isn't one of the upgraded Travelodge Hotels, it could easily pass as one. The shower room was luxurious, and there were handy sockets by the bed and under the mirror. Our room provided a view of the airport takeoffs, which, being at a comfortable distance, were enjoyable to watch. Highly recommended!

Easily accessible, whether on foot from the JL airport terminals or via the 86A bus stop (costing £2 for a trip to Liverpool city center), this hotel offers decent comfort at a fair price. We had a very spacious room, as it was designed for handicapped access (though it’s odd that these facilities aren't reserved for those who actually require them—strange, isn't it?). There’s a bar and restaurant on-site, which is fortunate as the area itself lacks such amenities. Expect to pay around €90 for a room without breakfast. Recommended for logistical convenience.

As a devoted Beatles enthusiast, you might think you know everything about them—until you meet Dale Roberts! He truly is a Beatles GURU. Dale led our Magical Mystery Tour on Friday, May 29th, and proved to be an exceptional guide. His knowledge about the Beatles is unparalleled, but he also brilliantly delved into Liverpool’s history and the architecture of its famous landmarks. His passion and depth of knowledge were truly impressive. Moreover, Dale was hilarious and entertaining, with expert pun skills—we couldn’t get enough of his clever jokes! Fun fact: he co-owns one of George Harrison's childhood homes as an Airbnb, and we’re seriously considering staying there next year. If you’re visiting Liverpool, this tour is an absolute must! Huge thanks to Dale and the wonderful driver for a safe and thoroughly enjoyable experience!

I really enjoyed my first visit to Speke Hall, although I wished the hall had opened earlier. There isn’t a lot to see in the grounds, so after arriving at 10am, my family and I had to wait around until the hall opened at 12.30. The interior is fascinating with beautiful oak paneling, and the tour guides are highly informative. It was delightful to have a musician playing the lute during my visit. As someone with Coeliac Disease, I appreciated being able to buy a gluten-free scone at the café. The second-hand bookshop was interesting, but it was a pity there wasn’t a gift shop. The car park was convenient, and overall, it was a lovely day out. It was wonderful to see the bluebells in the woods.

We were fortunate to choose Hampton by Hilton, John Lennon Airport, for our stay the night before flying out on holiday and again on our return. The warm reception we received on Thursday, 16th April, around 5 pm, was professional, quick, and most importantly, incredibly friendly—we were checked in within five minutes! Parking on the fifth floor was simple and included in our package. The public areas, including the lift, were spotless, with a pleasant, fresh scent. The bedroom was delightful—impeccably clean with crisp white linens and fluffy white towels. It also included a safe, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, and an extra pillow. Though we had an early flight and skipped breakfast, Jet2’s Twilight Check-in was excellent. We dropped off our luggage around 6 pm and breezed straight through security the next morning. When we returned to stay on 24th April at 4 pm, we received another warm welcome, and our room maintained the same high standard, offering a lovely view of the airport and river. We had a minor issue tuning the TV, but within 2-3 minutes of calling reception, the delightful Molly arrived and patiently resolved it for us—truly going above and beyond. Breakfast the next morning was surprisingly good, with everything freshly replenished. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Given the fantastic experience, we’re baffled by any negative reviews. This is one of the best airport hotels we've ever stayed at—so much so that we've already rebooked for June. A huge thank you to the team—you’re a credit to the hotel chain! ❤️

On a beautiful spring afternoon, we visited this location as part of our coach tour. The gardens are absolutely lovely, and the house is fascinating with so much to explore. Unlike many places where you're only allowed to peek from the doorway, here you can fully appreciate each room and its details. Strolling around the grounds takes you near the back of the airport, but unless planes are taking off, all you hear is soothing birdsong. The café offers a broad selection of food and serves an excellent cup of tea. The toilets are clean as well. Overall, it’s a delightful spot for a leisurely visit. If I lived nearby, I’d likely join the National Trust and visit often.

This place has so much potential, and I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but Premier Inn needs to improve a few things first. Let’s start with the positives. The place was immaculate—absolutely spotless. Everything was exactly where it should be, and the space smelled as fresh as a daisy, which is a real credit to the cleaning staff. Reception is small but perfectly adequate, and the receptionist was fantastic, even though she was juggling checking in guests and managing the bar at the same time. The evening restaurant team were excellent as well, and the breakfast staff in the morning were equally good. Unfortunately, it all went downhill when it came to the food. The issue isn’t the quality but the lack of variety. First, the barman informed us they had run out of several types of wine, so we were limited to just one glass. Then, we were told there were two items on the main menu that weren’t available. When it came to dessert, they didn’t have bananas for the cheesecake, so I ordered another dessert—only to find out it hadn’t been defrosted yet and was unavailable too. At breakfast, we learned it was cooked to order, so we had to wait, and since we were pressed for time, it felt rushed and inconvenient. I get that this is a smaller Premier Inn, but with Liverpool Airport becoming busier, foot traffic will increase, and Premier Inn really needs to step up. Will I stay at the Premier Inn by John Lennon Airport again? Probably, but they need to sort out their stock levels and staffing to make the experience better. Come on, Premier Inn—step up your game!

English cities are densely packed, and the NORTHERN train network covers most popular routes, making train travel as convenient as taking the subway~Save your time for wandering charming towns and enjoying afternoon tea, it’s truly delightful! 💕 This time, I chose the Manchester one-day highlights route: Start from Piccadilly Station → John Rylands Library (a must-visit for Harry Potter fans, perfect for photos!) → Northern Quarter (graffiti walls, vintage shops, unique cafes) → Museum of Science and Industry → Old Trafford Stadium (a paradise for football fans, the atmosphere is amazing~) 🚉 If you get tired of Manchester… take the train to nearby towns! The train leaves the city and enters the countryside, with views of meadows, hills, and sheep… It takes less than two hours to reach Windermere. 📍 How to enjoy Windermere: ❶ Walk 10 minutes to Bowness town ❷ Stroll by the lake + feed the swans (remember to bring your own bread) ❸ Take a Windermere Lake Cruises boat ride to enjoy the breeze ❹ Visit Peter Rabbit World 🐰 for a fun photo stop ❺ Watch the sunset by the lake in the evening, it’s truly heartwarming ❤️ 💰 Tips about train tickets: ① Train prices in the UK rise during peak hours, booking tickets in advance is more cost-effective. ② Lock in your tickets early for a more stable itinerary and better budget control. ③ You can choose to buy “Off-Peak” flexible tickets for more freedom in scheduling.

Booked a flying lesson for my son’s 16th birthday, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He had no prior experience—complete beginner—but said it was such a unique and exciting activity. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something different. Ryan, the pilot, did a great job explaining everything. I even got to follow his flight path using flight radar.

We lodged at this hotel for a single night ahead of our early flight to Tenerife the next day. Arranged via Holiday Extras, everything was effortlessly smooth. Directions for parking were clear and the automatic barrier raised without issue—just make sure your car registration is included in your booking. Hotel reception is situated on the 5th floor; we contacted them beforehand to request a top-floor room so the kids could watch the planes. Room 602 was on the 11th floor and very spacious, larger than most hotel rooms, with two sizable double beds and a bathroom that featured a shower over the bath. The room boasted two big windows offering views of the yellow submarine, the terminal, and the runway. The room was exactly what we requested, so thanks to the staff member who took care of this for us. We enjoyed an excellent continental breakfast, though we missed out on the cooked breakfast that starts at 6am. For a relaxed stay and early holiday start, I highly recommend this place—no hassle and a thrilling spot for the kids.

We spent the night at the Hampton by Hilton Liverpool Airport before our early morning flight, and it was incredibly convenient. The hotel is right across the road from the terminal, so we just walked over in the morning, making our trip easy and without stress. Check-in was swift and pleasant, and the staff were delightful and welcoming. Our room was pristine, cozy, and surprisingly quiet despite being close to the airport. The bed was very comfortable, and we had everything needed for a restful night. Since we left around 4:45 am, we only enjoyed the continental breakfast available from 4:00 am to 6:00 am, but it was perfect—fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, and coffee before departing. A thoughtful touch for early travelers! Overall, it’s an excellent choice if you have an early flight from Liverpool. Great value, friendly staff, clean rooms, and unbeatable location. We’re certain to return next time we fly from here.

We found ourselves here on August Bank Holiday Monday, and the weather couldn't have been better. Located right next to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, it's a great spot whether you want to enjoy the planes, the National Trust site, or both! All eyes were on the plane landings, which are easily observed from the area close to the maze. For takeoffs, you'd need to watch from the path accessible via the NT by the runway emergency access gates near the old Speke airfield, which is a brief walk. This National Trust is ideal for families with young children; the maze is enjoyable, the park is impressive, and the summer playfields are fantastic. We didn't go inside the house since we have a small dog, but it's certainly a site worth visiting. Strongly recommended.

Stayed here for a single night due to an early flight from Liverpool to Ireland. The staff were welcoming, and check-in was speedy. They sent a text after a few hours to ensure the room was satisfactory. The bed was comfortable for the short sleep I managed. The room maintained a pleasant temperature. I skipped breakfast since it starts after my departure. I can't assess that. Dinner is available between 5 pm and 9 pm; I wish there were more options, but airport pricing likely affects this. It's a good choice for airport stays, and I've already booked again for my trip from Liverpool next year.
