My wife and I recently returned from an amazing geology tour with GeoCultura. Our guides, Jon Noad and Russell Davies, took us to incredible geological formations and explained them so clearly that we were truly awestruck by the power of time and the forces shaping the earth. A special highlight was their unique access to Dinosaur Provincial Park, where we saw dinosaur bones and a tooth still in place, hidden for millennia until revealed by recent rain. This trip is ideal for solo travelers or science-minded couples with some background knowledge, as seven of the eight people on this trip were scientists. Still, the experience was fun for everyone—the food was delicious and abundant, the accommodations were top-notch for remote Canada, and the bus was very comfortable. We’d absolutely join these guides for another adventure!

Alberta Provincial Dinosaur Park is located in southern Alberta, Canada, just a two-hour drive east from Calgary. Here, the vast grasslands sink and merge into folded valleys, with layers of orange-gray rock and bizarre "rock pillars" scattered throughout, forming a prehistoric "archive" dating back 76 million years. Nearly 50 species of dinosaur remains have been discovered in the park, including the Albertosaurus, a relative of the Tyrannosaurus rex.
