Mezquita
Travelogue of Andalusia Part 4🇪🇸
Mezquita, a World Heritage Site in Cordoba.
"Mezquita" means "mosque" in Spanish. Despite this, this building is officially a "cathedral".
In other words, it is a very rare building in that a Christian cathedral was built inside a building that was an Islamic mosque (the largest mosque in the world at the time) during the course of history.
It is a mysterious space where you feel an Islamic atmosphere in a space with red and white arches that you often see in guidebooks, and then suddenly the scenery changes to the inside of a cathedral.
The Jewish quarter in the city, a historical district that is also a World Heritage Site, also creates a good atmosphere with the combination of small flower bowls and white houses.
In the city of Cordoba, where the atmosphere of the three religions of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism is mixed, I fell into a strange feeling I had never experienced before, and it was a good opportunity to deepen my knowledge of each religion.
It's definitely fun to learn about the history while sightseeing here 🎶
If you can hire a guide, you should do so‼️

Córdoba
Córdoba is a historic and cultural city in the Andalusia region of southern Spain and the capital of Córdoba province. It is located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River and is famous worldwide for its flourishing medieval Arab civilization, numerous ancient sites, and its unique role in the cultural exchange between East and West. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The city of Córdoba features many architectural remains that blend Islamic and European styles:
Córdoba Mosque-Cathedral (Mezquita-Catedral): One of the most famous buildings in Córdoba, it was originally built in the 8th century. Its vast Arab Caliphate civilization was the most brilliant in medieval Europe.
Roman Bridge (Puente Romano): Spanning the Guadalquivir River, it is 331 meters long with 16 arches. It was built under the direction of Roman Emperor Augustus and witnessed Córdoba’s prosperity during Roman rule.
Other ancient sites: About 10 km outside the city are valuable Arab white marble architectural ruins. The city also preserves unique street and plaza layouts from the Moorish period.

Rustic Escape at Finca de Bobadilla
#hellohalloween
Spending the weekend at Finca de Bobadilla felt like stepping into another world. Olive groves stretched as far as the eye could see, and the air smelled of countryside calm. The finca is rustic but charming, with a pool surrounded by hills and endless quiet. It’s the kind of place where you wake up to birds instead of alarms. From here, exploring nearby villages like Iznájar makes the trip feel perfectly balanced between relaxation and adventure.

A church full of Baroque reliefs
Andalusian Tour ~ Cordoba (Region)
Andalusian Baroque, official national monument. It is located in the center of town and is connected to the Iglesia Mayor. The interior is decorated with extensive plasterwork and paintings by the local painter Juan de Dios Hernández. In the center of the church is a sanctuary richly decorated with scenes from the life of Christ. The tabernacle and images were created by local sculptor Pedro de Mena y Gutiérrez. There were bronze railings around the tabernacle. The church was completed in 1772.

Cordoba's Hidden Mountain City Town
Andalusia Tour ~ Cordoba (Region)
The town is situated on a hillside, forming a network of narrow winding streets dotted with traditional houses and ancestral houses. It is surrounded by olive groves and wheat fields.
The city's historic district is located on the higher side of the hill. Its monuments include the 16th-century Church of Santa María la Mayor (although some evidence suggests it dates back to the 13th century), the Madre de Dios Convent Church, built in 1510, and the ancient Alcazar Castle, built in the 9th century, with several gates leading into the walls. Next to the office buildings in Plaza de la Constitución we can find the Monte house, built in the 18th century, and near the square is the Tercia house, built at the end of the 18th century, which currently houses the Municipal Museum of History.

Not a great castle, but an important part of Spanish history
Andalucia Tour Extra: Cycling Tour from Cordoba to Jaén
Castillo del Río looks like a majestic fortress in an already walled town. A staunch tradition can be felt in both the fabric of the city and the character of the Castellenos, but with its origins in the 12th-century Almohad Castle.
From Piazza dei Artisani you can enjoy the most beautiful views, including the square towers and the castle. Inside the cylindrical tower there is a cistern and on the wall we can see a schematic diagram of a radio from the Spanish Civil War, as the castle was used as a radio broadcasting point.
We can also see the main square which is used for cultural events. It's not a great castle, but for me it's a piece of history!

A busy yet relaxing square in Cordoba
Andalucia Tour ~ Cordoba
It is probably one of the busiest and most popular squares in the city, which is located near the Roman Forum in the city of Cordoba. It takes its name from the small shop that was home to the Order of Calatrava since the 14th century.
A beautiful place to relax and unwind. The beautiful fountain is an eye-catcher and a treat. There are great bars and restaurants surrounding it and if you are in Cordoba you should take the time to stop by.

If you love history, you would love here
Item : Cordoba Mosque-Cathedral
Address: Mosque of Córdoba, C. Cardenal Herrero, 1, 14003 Córdoba, Spain
Worth the Visit : 100% 💯
This place has a very strong energy. It exudes power, anger and sadness. I was drawn to this place when I read about their history. My curiosity was backed up by the drama series " Suria Di Cordoba" and thus, I ended up here in this part of Andalusia, Spain. Every corner that you walk, every alley, every red brick there tells you a story. Its architecture has many influences; Islamic, Gothic and Moorish. The beauty is just captivating. Take your time to walk and listen and learn about the area. You'll need maybe 3 to 4hrs on foot to cover. If you're tired you can always rest get food and refreshments at the cafes along the street near the vacinity. Bring your shades because when the sunlight reflect certain parts of the wall it can be blinding for those with astigmatism.

Come to Crdoba, Spain in the Charity City Cordova
5 month garden festival! Here you can feel the charm of this small flower city. In addition to the famous Baihua Lane, Crdoba also has two large IPs, Alcazar Castle and Grand Mosque. Alcazar Castle is the palace and fortress of Alfonso X in the 13th century, surrounded by high walls and towers that are indestructible. The castle building is divided into three floors, the upper level is the royal palace, the middle is the outbuilding and the small mosque, and the lower level is the garden. Ascend the narrow spiral staircase of the tower to the roof terrace, where you can see the beautiful gardens under the castle and the ancient Roman bridge. The garden is very beautiful, no wonder it is known as one of the most beautiful castles in Andalusia. Although it is not comparable to the gardens of the Royal Palace of Seville and the Summer Palace, it can be regarded as a unique style. Every year at the Garden Festival in May, the citizens of Crdoba will open their own courtyards for everyone to appreciate. The Grand Mosque and the Cathedral of Seville have the same purpose. The Great Mosque was occupied by Muslims in Crdoba and was converted into half of the Catholic Church of the Visigoths at that time. Then the Christians regained their lost ground and rebuilt the mosque.

Spain travels to Crdoba | You use the architectural writing history
Cordoba to attract me is this Moorish, Spanish mosque, and most importantly, the inside of the mosque is a church. Exclusion and oppression in the essence of religion are exquisite and exquisite here. You overthrew my tower. After a few hundred years, I demolished your dome. I will call back after a few hundred years, but they exist together here. But surrounded by more than a thousand horseshoe arches, who knows whether it is pride or tragedy.
It's small but definitely worth it, white roof blue roof, alleys with flower walls, ancient Roman bridges, Jewish ruins, you have countless reasons to come and sit down for a cup of Arabian mint tea Try a Moroccan Taji pot stewed lamb.
LiAn.
Out of the Great Mosque is a particularly beautiful Baihua Lane in Cordoba, but unfortunately there is almost no flower in winter. In fact, not only in the alleys of the old towns of Cordoba, Spain, but also in the spring, the flowers bloom in full bloom.
The next step is the ancient Roman bridge of Crdoba. It is a bit bland during the day, and the evening lights will be especially beautiful. The most amazing surprise in Cordoba is the weekend market. In fact, I don't quite understand whether this is a fixed market in Crdoba on weekends or if we are lucky enough to meet the big days in Cordoba.
