Xuzhou Museum: A Cultural Journey Through History
Xuzhou Museum: A Cultural Journey Through History
Xuzhou, an ancient city with a history of thousands of years, is known for its unique charm as the "Hometown of Peng Zu, Liu Bang, and Xiang Yu." Xuzhou Museum is a precious key to unlocking the history of this city.
Stepping into Xuzhou Museum is like stepping into a galaxy of history. The museum's rich collection of cultural relics includes ceramics, pottery figurines, jade, gold, and silverware, among many other categories. The museum's collection spans from the Neolithic period to the present, with Han Dynasty relics being the most dazzling. These relics form a complete and unique display system. Most of these relics come from scientific excavations of ancient sites or tombs. They bear the marks of history, with clear eras and origins, and each one seems to tell a story of the past.
The museum's most prized possession is the Gold Threaded Jade Garment, which shines like a bright star in the museum. It is 174 cm long and 68 cm wide, made of 1,576 grams of gold thread and 4,248 pieces of white and green jade from Hetian, Xinjiang. This jade garment, unearthed from the Tomb of the King of Chu in Xuzhou's Lion Mountain in 1994-1995, is a masterpiece of Han Dynasty craftsmanship. It is the earliest, with the most jade pieces, the best jade quality, and the most exquisite craftsmanship, making one marvel at the ancient craftsmen's superb skills and extraordinary wisdom.
When you look away from the Gold Threaded Jade Garment, the museum's other precious relics are equally captivating. From the simple pottery of the Neolithic period to the historical relics related to the reconstruction of the "Chongzhen City" after the Yellow River breach in the Ming Dynasty, to the relics associated with the "Ximatai" of Xiang Yu and the "Swallow Tower" of the Tang Dynasty, these relics are like historical coordinates, connecting the vicissitudes of Xuzhou from ancient times to the present. Here, you can appreciate the unique geographical location of Xuzhou, which made it a battleground for military strategists, and feel the deep imprint of Han culture on this land. Come to Xuzhou Museum and embark on a wonderful journey through time and space, letting the charm of history linger in your heart.

Travel Through Xuzhou Museum and Explore the Echoes of History
Travel Through Xuzhou Museum and Explore the Echoes of History
Xuzhou is a city deeply favored by history, and Xuzhou Museum is like a three-dimensional history book, standing quietly in the north of Yunlong Mountain, waiting for people to come and read it.
Stepping into the museum, the "Ancient Peng Millennium" exhibition area unfolds like a long scroll of history, from the red pottery and black pottery of the distant Neolithic period to the bronzes that shine with the brilliance of ancient civilization, they span thousands of years, presenting the ancient skills and aesthetics of Xuzhou one by one.
"The Great Han Dynasty" is a luxurious feast of the Han Dynasty. Here, the stories of the 12 kings of Chu in Xuzhou are vividly told through artifacts. The famous seals show the authority of the king, and the gold, silver, and bronze jade clothes are the pinnacle of Han Dynasty craftsmanship. Especially the gold jade clothes, the jade pieces are as warm as ice, and the gold threads are as fine as hair, making people marvel at the ingenuity of the ancients.
In the "Heavenly Han Jade" exhibition area, jade bi, jade seals, jade cong, jade buckles, and other dazzling items are on display. A jade bi over 2,000 years old, time has not eroded its beauty, still exudes a soft luster, as if whispering the prosperity of the Han Dynasty.
The "Han Family Fireworks" exhibition area instantly takes people back to the ordinary life of the Han people. House models, farming tools, and coins, these seemingly ordinary objects, faithfully restore the human conditions of that era, and the smell of fireworks comes to the face.
The "Yongxiu Condensed Essence" exhibition area showcases the unique charm of pottery figurines from different dynasties. The simplicity of Han Dynasty pottery figurines and the elegance of Sui and Tang Dynasty pottery figurines, in this world, the changes of history are clearly visible. Among them, the majesty of the Yangguishan guard figurines, the agility of the Tuo Lanshan music and dance figurines, and the exquisite beauty of the Beidongshan painted ceremonial figurines all show the charming style of Xuzhou Han Dynasty artifacts.
Xuzhou Museum, four exhibition areas, half of Xuzhou's history. Convenient transportation, take bus 70, 49, 608, or subway line 2 to reach. The most surprising thing is that the tickets are free! Just come between 9:00 and 17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday to start this cultural journey through time and space, and feel the heartbeat and temperature of history.

Explore the charm of Chu and Han in Xuzhou City.
Choose Xuzhou for your holiday trip.
1 On the first day, I visited 1818 Food Plaza and Fuguo Street, two snack streets located close to each other. I took the first photo of Xuzhou in the first picture. At 1818, I tried the jujube cake from Da Chu, which was not bad, but not amazing either. It's still worth a try. Fuguo Street is very down-to-earth, with long queues everywhere (people lining up to buy delicious food). I tried the cold skin from Xiaoxiao (sweet and sour), which was not bad, but the portion was small, haha. I also queued up to buy fried steak, which was not good. Too much starch.
2 I visited Zhongshuge Bookstore, which is not as amazing as everyone says. It's just a bookstore with some design features. Compared to Suzhou's Eslite Bookstore, it's still lacking something. In the evening, I had barbecue in Xuzhou, which was not bad. Recommended. The bookstore and Yunlong Mountain Yunlong Lake are very close, so you can visit them together. The rice noodles at Yunlong Lake's A Zhe are very delicious, with lots of meat sauce and a generous portion. I ordered both meat sauce and beef brisket rice noodles, both of which were delicious. The beef brisket is a bit spicy, not suitable for children.
3 Xuzhou Museum requires advance reservation. It has three floors. Huilongwo is a small ancient building district. If you're not traveling with children, it's worth a visit. We were traveling with children, so we just took a quick look and left.
4 I stayed at the Earl's House Hotel. The room size is good, with separate dry and wet areas. The hygiene is also good. Recommended. Good service and comfortable accommodation. Satisfied. Xuzhou Museum

Xuzhou Travel | Qianlong Emperor's Must-Stay Palace in Xuzhou!
The Qianlong Palace in Xuzhou, also known as the Yunlong Mountain Palace, is located at the northern foot of Yunlong Mountain in Xuzhou City. It was originally a temporary place for Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty to eat, rest, and engage in political activities during his southern tour. The Qianlong Palace in Xuzhou was built in the 22nd year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1757).
In that year, Emperor Qianlong went on a southern tour and passed through Xuzhou for the first time. The local officials built this palace for him under Yunlong Mountain. At first, the palace was very large, with the north leaning against the earth mountain, the south reaching the foot of Yunlong Mountain, the east to the imperial bridge, and the west to today's Zhongshan South Road. After the palace was built, Emperor Qianlong was very satisfied. Among the four times he came to Xuzhou, he lived in this palace three times except for the third time he came to Xuzhou.

So fortunate to have missed the National Museum, finally fulfilled my wish in Xuzhou
Who understands! I always regretted missing the Yuanmingyuan animal heads in the Rejuvenation Road exhibition hall due to insufficient time at the National Museum, but I didn't expect to catch them in Xuzhou! 😍
🌟 The Charm of Yuanmingyuan Animal Heads
The Yuanmingyuan animal heads, also known as the twelve zodiac bronze animal heads of Yuanmingyuan, were designed by the Italian court painter Giuseppe Castiglione during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, supervised by the Frenchman Michel Benoist, and crafted by court artisans. These animal heads are made of refined red copper, with exquisite casting, showcasing a high level of artistic craftsmanship. In 1860, the Anglo-French Allied Forces burned down Yuanmingyuan, and the animal heads were lost overseas. Over the years, countless patriots have worked hard for their return. The animal heads are not only precious cultural relics but also bear the humiliating history of the Chinese nation and the hope for national strength and the return of cultural relics. They are an important symbol of Chinese cultural heritage and national spirit.
🌟 Prosperous Return · Gathering in Pengcheng - Special Exhibition of Yuanmingyuan Animal Heads
Jointly launched by Xuzhou Museum, Poly Art Museum, and Yuanmingyuan Administration Office of Haidian District, Beijing, the exhibited cultural relics include:
✅ Five major animal heads of Yuanmingyuan: original pieces of ox head, tiger head, monkey head, and pig head, and a replica of horse head
✅ Qing Dynasty armor
✅ Qing court porcelain, royal edicts, calligraphy and paintings, etc.
🕐 Visiting Time: The museum is not large, and it takes about half an hour to visit.
📍 Xuzhou Museum · Qianlong Palace
(The exhibition ended on August 31, please do not visit in vain)

Xuzhou Trip - Xuzhou Museum
Xuzhou Museum.
It takes a ten-minute walk from Yundongjing to Xuzhou Museum.
On the way, I saw an ancient-style building. The entrance was filled with parked cars. Upon closer inspection, I discovered it was a Taoist temple - Xuzhou's Sanqing Temple. A center for Taoist cultural activities.
It enshrines various Taoist deities such as the Three Pure Ones and the Four Sovereigns, with a rich incense tradition of the Celestial Master Dao, belonging to the Orthodox Unity sect of Taoism.
The fifteenth day of the first lunar month. The Lantern Festival. The Heavenly Official bestows blessings.
Blessed people are not busy.
Every encounter is not in vain. I am at peace, my heart is at peace, blessings come naturally, and my heart rejoices.
Xuzhou Museum is not very large.
A three-story building, very well-designed.
There were still many people. So many that it was impossible to book a guide.
Following the museum's guide, we started from the third floor and worked our way down.
To understand a city, start with its museum.
Third floor - Golden Armor and Terracotta Warriors.
Mainly various weapons, pottery, and terracotta figures unearthed in Xuzhou. Unlike the displays in the National Museum and Henan Museum, I saw terracotta figures with Han Dynasty cultural characteristics, especially the long-sleeved dancing figures, graceful and vivid. The expressions and images of other terracotta figures were also different from those seen in the National Museum and Henan Museum, more akin to the delicate eyebrows and round faces of Korean or Japanese figures, with slender waists. Indeed, historical evolution, dynastic changes, and cultural differences are immediately apparent.
Second floor - Han Jade.
The highlight of Xuzhou Museum. The gold-threaded jade suit, the museum's treasure, is displayed among the Han Dynasty jade masterpieces. The jade suit consists of 4,248 jade pieces, with 1,576 grams of gold thread used to string them together. It is the earliest, most numerous, best-quality, and most exquisitely crafted jade suit unearthed in China to date.
Han Dynasty jade. True uncut jade. Though unrefined, it exudes a natural and exquisite charm. Han Dynasty jade, though not as transparent and lustrous as modern jade, still shows its natural textures and colors, bearing the marks of history and shining with a refined glow.
First floor - Cultural and Creative Park.
Today's cultural and creative products are gradually developing their own styles. However, most do not leave a lasting impression. They have commemorative value but lack novelty and uniqueness. After browsing, I finally chose two sets of postcards and two Xuzhou travel stamp books. Enthusiastically stamping and signing, I felt a strong sense of ceremony.
In one hour, I understood a city.
Han culture, compared to Song, Tang, and Ming-Qing cultures, is fundamentally different. After seeing so much of Tang, Song, Ming, and Qing interpretations, Han culture feels like a breath of fresh air, filling the emptiness in our hearts and enriching our journey.
Culture is like threads that string together all the dynasties, allowing you to deeply feel the continuous flow of five thousand years of culture and the weight and patterns of historical evolution.
Understand the past, live well in the present, and fearlessly face the future.

Xuzhou Museum
is a comprehensive local museum established on the site of the former palace during the southern tour of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty.
It was founded in 1959, located at the northern foot of Yunlong Mountain, and has undergone three expansions and renovations.
It consists of four exhibition areas: the main exhibition building, the tomb of the King of Pengcheng from the Eastern Han Dynasty in Tushan, the quarry site from the Han Dynasty, and the Qianlong Palace and Stele Garden.
The museum has seven permanent exhibitions: "Ancient Peng Millennium", "Great Han Atmosphere", "Heavenly Craft Han Jade", "Han Family Fireworks", "Elegant Figurines", "Golden Armor and Iron Horses", and "Deng Yongqing's Collection of Calligraphy and Paintings".
Xuzhou Museum boasts a rich collection of cultural relics, mainly including ceramics, pottery figurines, jade artifacts, gold and silverware, bronze and ironware, seals, calligraphy and paintings, and miscellaneous items.
Among them, the Neolithic, Han, and Ming Dynasty artifacts are the most abundant and prominent.
Moreover, Xuzhou Museum is the first modern comprehensive local museum in China to integrate a museum with tombs and sites.
The space is organized by two parallel axes, forming a main axis that runs through the center of the building and a secondary axis that leads directly to the Han tomb through the Han Stone Carving Courtyard, cleverly linking the building with the square and the Tushan Han tomb, reflecting the designer's ingenious conception.

Xuzhou Tourism: Exploring the Xuzhou Museum
Xuzhou Museum, a half-day immersion to appreciate the splendor of the Han Dynasty.
Stepping into this place feels like traveling through a thousand years, getting up close and personal with the history and culture of the Han Dynasty. The museum houses lacquerware that, despite the ravages of time, still shines brightly and remains flawless.
Standing before the piggy banks filled with copper coins, one can't help but imagine the ancient person from a thousand years ago, with what kind of wishes in their heart, dropping each coin into it, hoping that one day their wishes would come true.
And those clay figurines, singing and dancing, with their sleeves raised and waists bent, seem to be showcasing the unparalleled elegance of that era to us, making us intoxicated.
There is also a vivid scene of a pig slaughter, crossing over a thousand years of time, proving that this ancient craft has been passed down among the people, living on and on.
Moreover, the gold-threaded jade garment, hailed as the best quality unearthed to date, with its thinnest jade piece being only one millimeter thick, even though the flesh is no longer there, the gold and jade still shine, telling an immortal legend.
At the Xuzhou Museum, we can not only appreciate the cultural treasures of the Han Dynasty but also feel the eternal charm of history and art. This is a holy place worth visiting for everyone who loves history and culture.

1⃣️ Huilongwo
Located in the city center, it's an ancient Qing dynasty architectural complex with a vibe similar to Nanjing's Laomendong scenic area. The Xuzhou City Wall Museum at the entrance is also worth a visit, very photogenic.
2⃣️ Hubu Mountain/Xima Terrace
Next to Huilongwo, a 10-minute walk 🉑 get there. Hubu Mountain has a sculpture of Xiang Yu.
3⃣️ Xuzhou Museum
Xuzhou Museum is definitely underrated, with a lot of Han dynasty artifacts inside, and the treasure of the museum, the 'jade suit sewn with gold thread', is absolutely beautiful‼️ Closed on Mondays, reservation needed in advance.
‼️ The Qianlong Imperial Palace next to Xuzhou Museum is also worth a visit~
4⃣️ Yunlong Lake + Yunlong Mountain
Exiting the Xuzhou Museum is the north gate of Yunlong Mountain, about 20 minutes 🉑 climb to the viewing platform, 🉑 overlook Yunlong Lake, with a broad view. ✔️ About Xuzhou cuisine:
There's so much food in Xuzhou, you can't finish it all! The main food streets are Fuguo Street, Fengchu Street, and Yiba Night Market
📍 Fuguo Street, in the downtown area, near Suning Plaza on Subway Line 1, recommended dishes include Yipin Piaoxiang rice noodles, Xiaobao ice jelly, Yan Erjie rolled pancakes, and Lao Zheng roasted gluten. Actually, I feel like you can't go wrong with anything on this street.

📍 Yiba Night Market, check in at the Xuzhou logo wall, local milk tea Yunlong Let Tea, and various Xuzhou snacks.
❌ Highly recommended, Xuzhou's breakfast‼️
Don't miss out on Xuzhou's breakfast when you're here! Spicy soup + fried dough sticks + buns, simply drool-worthy! Here are two places I think are great!
✔️ Mashijie sha soup
This place is popular and delicious! You need to queue up for self-service, recommended dishes include steamed dumplings, beef potstickers, sha soup, and eight-strand fried dough sticks!
✔️ Liang Lai Feng
An old brand popular breakfast spot in Xuzhou, with many stores, choose the one closest to you, recommended for spicy soup and pan-fried buns.
‼️ Finally, a few travel tips for Xuzhou:
✔️ Accommodation recommendation, near Suning Plaza in the city center, with subway access, convenient to go anywhere
✔️ Xuzhou barbecue, I tried Fangfang, the taste was good. However, locals told me that for local specialties like clay pot chicken, garlic burst fish, and barbecue, you can just find a place near any residential area, the older-looking stores usually have very good flavors.
✔️ Xuzhou is really hot in summer, remember to protect yourself from the sun

The Qianlong Imperial Palace of the Xuzhou Museum
The Qianlong Imperial Palace, located in the Xuzhou Museum, was once a resting place for Emperor Qianlong during his southern tours, also known as the Yunlong Mountain Imperial Palace. This palace was built in the 22nd year of Qianlong's reign (1757), meticulously planned by the Governor of Liangjiang, Yin Jishan. When Emperor Qianlong visited Xuzhou during his southern tours, he stayed here. The architectural layout is rigorous, with three courtyards in succession, and the houses are arranged in an orderly fashion, displaying grandeur and momentum. The main hall is majestic and solemn, facing Yunlong Mountain, constructed with Sichuan cypress wood, featuring four beams and eight pillars, a single-eave corner lifting design, yellow glazed tube tiles, painted rafters of sandalwood, and golden dragons dancing on the corridor beams, resplendent and magnificent, leaving visitors in awe. Inside the hall, through the restoration of scenes and other forms, the history and anecdotes of Emperor Qianlong's four visits to Xuzhou during his southern tours are vividly presented.
To the east side, the Stele Garden is a garden-style architecture filled with ancient charm, with small bridges over flowing water, bamboo hidden in the greenery, winding paths leading to secluded spots, and the fragrance of ink pervading the air. Here, one seems to travel through time and space, appreciating the leisurely elegance of the ancients.
It is worth mentioning that regarding the stamping service at the Xuzhou Museum, visitors should take note that it is not located at the Qianlong Imperial Palace entrance's tourist service center as stated on the Xuzhou City Travel Passport, but at the tourist center in the entrance hall of the Xuzhou Museum.

Xuzhou Two Days One Night | E University Special Forces Students Refuse to Queue
E University students make a quick decision and randomly ask local Xuzhou residents by the roadside
Hotel🏨: Suning Plaza Huaihai Road Atour Hotel S (Convenient location, a bit pricey at 400 per night)
Day1
🏷️Fuguo Street
P2-3 A lot of people were still queuing at Yipin Piaoxiang at 1:30 in the afternoon, so we decisively gave up and went to the Old Demon King BBQ Tendon Roll Pancake next door
P4: While buying the pancake, we met two locals and asked them which rice noodle shop was good🍜 They recommended 'Guanguan Rice Noodles' opposite Yipin Piaoxiang and also a dry-fried vegetable place 'Shimian Ambush'
At the rice noodle shop, we shared a table with two local girls who suggested not to go to those internet-recommended shops with long queues and said that for barbecue, any roadside stall is quite good 🍖 and it's even better to find one in a residential building
🏷️Xingshi Community (not as exaggerated as promoted online)
P5-6 It's just a community with some small shops, this toy shop is quite photogenic but the store is a bit small
🏷️Hubu Mountain - Xima Platform - Huilong Nest
P7-9 Hubu Mountain is a somewhat commercial street that probably gets busier at night, with a cultural market selling old books, lacquered fans, and fridge magnets related to Xuzhou dialect. Also bought a 'Honey City Love' 'Tomato Egg Soup'
P10 At the entrance of Xima Platform, they sell 'Hanfu' books and you can also get stamps directly in the store
P11 Under the bridge outside Hubu Mountain is Huilong Nest, which has a 'Walking Xuzhou' store specializing in cultural and creative products
🏷️Barbecue
P12 'Chuanju' I personally think this barbecue is quite delicious, the scallion beef is my top 1, also ordered a frog fish which didn't quite suit my taste
P13 After the barbecue, went to check in at the 'Xuzhou' sign near 1818
Day2
For breakfast, went to 'One Soup One Porridge' inside Hubu Mountain and had sha soup, didn't go to the one on Mashijie
🏷️Xuzhou Museum
P14 The museum requires online reservation in advance and is closed on Mondays
🏷️Yunlong Mountain
P15-16 The gate opposite the museum is the North Gate. If you want to hike properly, it's recommended to enter from the North Gate. If you just want to go to the observation deck and take the cable car, it's recommended to enter from the West Gate
(You can understand it this way: the observation deck is at the highest peak on the southern side, the North Gate is the farthest from it, the West Gate is closer but still requires some climbing)
🏷️Dry-fried Vegetables
P17 Originally wanted to go to 'Shimian Ambush' but it only opens at 4:30 in the afternoon, so went to 'Guangyuanju' instead
It's really a fly restaurant, the portions are large and the taste is sweet and spicy, the best dish is the dry-fried potato strips
🏷️Baolian Temple
P18 Admission is free, the temple is magnificent, and the Tongtian Tower is worth a visit

The Xuzhou Qianlong Imperial Lodge (Yunlong Mountain Lodge)
The Xuzhou Qianlong Imperial Lodge, also known as the Yunlong Mountain Lodge, is located at the northern foot of Yunlong Mountain in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Originally a temporary site for Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty to eat, rest, and engage in political activities during his southern tours, it is now under the jurisdiction of the Xuzhou Museum and is a rare cultural relic and scenic spot in Xuzhou.
The Xuzhou Qianlong Imperial Lodge was built in the 22nd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1757). That year, Emperor Qianlong was on his southern tour and passed through Xuzhou for the first time. Local officials built this imperial lodge for him at the foot of Yunlong Mountain.
After the completion of the lodge, Emperor Qianlong was very satisfied. Out of his four visits to Xuzhou, he stayed at this lodge three times, except for the third visit. He also personally wrote a pair of couplets: 'The famous garden leans on the green water, the wild bamboo reaches the blue sky'; 'Outside the house stands a distinguished peak, in front of the steps, a multitude of deep ravines.'

Xuzhou Exhibition | Heavenly Craftsmanship in Han Dynasty Jade: The Exquisite Jade Artifacts of Xuzhou Museum
The beauty of stone is jade, and about 9,000 years ago, jade had already established a close relationship with the ancestors of China. Since then, jade has become a symbol of divine and royal power, a medium connecting heaven and earth, and a manifestation of the hierarchical system. From the Spring and Autumn period onwards, represented by the Confucian school, jade was moralized and personalized, and jade culture became one of the important cores of Chinese civilization.
During the Han Dynasty, the reverence and esteem for jade meant that it became a carrier for rituals and social interactions, a utility for life and decoration, a model for morality and conduct, and a tool for the pursuit of immortality and the desire for eternity.
Pengcheng was the political center during the Qin and Han dynasties, and also the capital of the Han Liu royal family's Chu and Pengcheng states. Numerous high-level tombs, including those of the kings of Chu and Pengcheng, have been discovered around the current urban area of Xuzhou, with jade artifacts being one of the most valuable categories of unearthed relics. The quantity, variety, and quality of Han Dynasty jade artifacts unearthed in Xuzhou are numerous, comprehensive, and high, representing the highest level of Han Dynasty jade craftsmanship.
Ritual Jade
Jade ritual objects have been used since the Neolithic period, mainly for sacrifices, court visits, and alliances. People of different ranks held different jade objects. Han Dynasty ritual jade continued the traditions of the Zhou Dynasty, but not as strictly, and the variety of objects was reduced.
Daily-use Jade
Exquisite jade was an indispensable part of the life of Han Dynasty nobility, with various jade artifacts hanging as decorations in palaces, and daily utensils also made of jade. These jade artifacts were made from carefully selected materials, exquisitely crafted, with designs that were either bold or restrained, lines that were either straight or soft, and decorations that were either complex or simple, representing an important embodiment of Han Dynasty artistic achievements.
Decorative Jade
'A gentleman compares virtue to jade,' and 'A gentleman never parts with jade without reason,' jade became the symbol of perfect personality and the highest standard of moral cultivation. Decorative jade was an important category of Han Dynasty jade artifacts, with both individual pendants and complete sets of ornaments, as well as jade sword fittings that were both practical and decorative.
Funerary Jade
The Han Dynasty nobility pursued immortality, and it was the most prosperous period for the use of funerary jade artifacts, forming a funerary jade system centered around jade burial suits, including inlaid jade lacquer coffins, jade bi, jade pillows, nine-hole plugs, jade grips, etc. The early Western Han period was an important time for the production and development of jade burial suits, with the most diverse forms unearthed in Xuzhou. Jade masks were also used among the Chu nobility during the Western Han Dynasty. Jade burial suits and jade masks reflected the hierarchical differences in the Western Han Chu funerary jade system. The use of jade burial suits was not yet standardized in the Western Han Dynasty, but by the Eastern Han Dynasty, a system had been formed to distinguish ranks by threading jade pieces with metal wires.

2️⃣DAY2: Xuzhou Museum - Yunlong Mountain - Jinshan Park - Xiaonan Lake - Submerged Corridor
📍Huilongwo: As a place that locals in Xuzhou love to visit all year round, Huilongwo is always fun! It's great for taking photos, and there are many cultural and creative shops, popular internet spots, and trendy stores. If it gets too hot, you can even go to a bookstore to cool off! 🏖
📍Hubu Mountain: Speaking of Hubu Mountain district, the night market is really fun, 🙋🏻♀️ but you can also go up the slope from Park Alley and pass by the Cui Family Courtyard and Li Family Mansion, which are full of historical charm from the ancient Ming and Qing dynasties! 💓
📍Cui Daoguang's Former Residence: As a grand official residence complex in the Hubu Mountain area 📸, during the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang era, a descendant of the Cui family, Cui Daoguang, passed the imperial examination and entered the Hanlin Academy. He was ordered to expand the residence, and since then, the Cui Family Courtyard has been known as the Cui Hanlin Mansion 💯
📍Xima Platform: Xima Platform is one of the oldest existing relics in Xuzhou‼️ After Xiang Yu destroyed the Qin Dynasty, he proclaimed himself the 'Overlord of Western Chu' and made Pengcheng his capital. On the southern hill of the city, he built a high platform to watch horse plays, hence the name Xima Platform 👏🏻
✅Lotus Well/Fengchu Street: If you want to see the lively local life of Xuzhou 🔥, these two places are definitely the right choice! There's a plethora of authentic food to satisfy your stomach 🍜
📍Xuzhou Museum: On the second day, you can start by visiting the Xuzhou Museum to appreciate the culture of the Han Dynasty. The Qianlong Imperial Palace next door is a great spot for photos!

📍Jinshan Park: The popular Metasequoia trees of Yunlong Lake are hidden here‼️
📍Xiaonan Lake: Although Xiaonan Lake is also part of Yunlong Lake, it's more exquisite 💓. On the way to Xiaonan Lake, you'll pass various 'bridges' that have a strong Jiangnan charm, making it a great place for photography 📸
📍Submerged Corridor: If you want to go boating 🛶, you can head straight to the Submerged Corridor pier. Boating from here allows you to see the lotus flowers up close, which is super comfortable 💕
🙋🏻♀️Take advantage of the summer before it ends, quickly like and save this post, and call your travel buddies to come to Xuzhou! 🚄

Xuzhou Museum, the museum at our doorstep
Xuzhou Museum is located at the northern foot of Yunlong Mountain, on the former site of the imperial palace used by Emperor Qianlong during his southern tour in 1757. To the southwest of the museum are the relics of a Western Han quarry, to the southeast are the Qianlong imperial palace and the Stele Garden, and to the north is the Eastern Han Tushan Tomb. The museum is the core, and it is said that 'to see the culture of the Han Dynasty, one must visit Xuzhou.' The cultural relics unearthed from various Han tombs in Xuzhou are collected in the Xuzhou Museum. Just being able to see the jade garments with gold, silver, and copper threads in one visit can thrill any cultural relic enthusiast. The 'Iron Horses and Bronze Spears' exhibition hall on the first floor displays various ancient weapons; in the Deng Yongqing Collection of Calligraphy and Painting, one can see the ink treasures of masters such as Bada Shanren (Zhu Da), Qi Baishi, and Xu Beihong. The 'Heavenly Craftsmanship in Han Jade' exhibition hall on the second floor is worth a visit, where the jade garment with gold threads unearthed from the Lion Mountain Chu King's Tomb is displayed as the 'treasure of the museum.' Of course, some visitors find the adjacent jade-inlaid lacquer coffin even more impressive due to its massive size, which also comes from the Lion Mountain Chu King's Tomb. The silver and copper-threaded jade garments are also in this exhibition hall. The 'Han Dynasty Treasures' on the second floor features a silver seal with a turtle knob from the Guishan Han Tomb, which has an interesting story; it was retrieved from a local youth and helped identify the owner of the Guishan Han Tomb as Liu Zhu. The 'Splendid Figurines' exhibition hall on the third floor displays pottery figurines from the Han to Tang dynasties.

No, it's true! There are indeed obscure attractions that 75% of Xuzhou residents don't know about
No, it's true! There are indeed obscure attractions that 75% of Xuzhou residents don't know about.
The Qianlong Imperial Palace—giving people in Xuzhou, located in northern Jiangsu, a rare taste of the southern Jiangnan charm.
Gray bricks, red walls, green tiles, it's really hin suitable for photography and even encountered three couples taking wedding photos. The new Chinese style really has an atmospheric feel! The solemnity of the red walls and the gentle grace of the silk-like mist! Although it's small in size, it's very worth visiting.

Reverse Travel in Xuzhou - 3
😄 Coming from the museum or Hubu Mountain, go up the mountain from the north gate
The square in front of the museum has been renovated, and the north gate of Yunlong Mountain is now open, which leads directly to the top of Yijie Mountain, passing through the stone archway, Qu Gang jumping fish, Xi Yu Pavilion, Zhang Shanren's former residence, and Dashi Rock Temple. Then keep heading south to the observation deck.
😄 Going up the mountain from Xinghua Zen Temple
Xinghua Zen Temple is equivalent to the east gate, where you can visit the temple and offer incense. The path leads up the mountain, and the exit is at the top of Yijie Mountain, Fanghe Pavilion, Zhang Shanren's former residence, and then turn left all the way south to the observation deck.
😄 Going up the mountain from the west gate, heading straight to the observation deck
If you want to go directly to the observation deck, it takes about ten minutes to reach it from the west gate entrance, and about ten minutes to go down the mountain. The west gate is also the closest entrance to Yunlong Lake and Marriott.
😄 Cable car
There are two cable car boarding points, east and west. The west side is close to Yunlong Lake, and the cable car scenery is also different. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery while going up the mountain. In addition, Yunlong Mountain has a total of 9 sections, and each section of the mountain has different entrances to go up the mountain, so you can choose the nearest one.
Main attractions of Yunlong Mountain: observation deck, Xinghua Zen Temple, Dashi Rock Temple, Zhang Shanren's former residence, Han Dynasty Relief Stone Art Museum, Yunlong Academy, etc.
😄 Yunlong Lake → Yunlong Mountain Cableway → Xuzhou Museum → Hui Long Nest → Hubu Mountain → Xi Ma Tai → 1818 Night Market → Bao Lian Temple
😄 Yunlong Lake is really beautiful. It's very pleasant to walk by the lake, feel the breeze, and watch the sunset. At sunset, the entire lake is shimmering, and the distant mountains stretch on endlessly. Watching the sun slowly set among the mountains, the whole scene is like a huge landscape painting.
😄 Bao Lian Temple is also very worth visiting. The architecture is grand and atmospheric, and it's also very photogenic.
