📍Wat Huai Mongkol, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province 🕌 Today, we will take everyone to pay homage to Luang Pu Thuat at Wat Huai Mongkol, located in Ban Huai Khot Community, Tambon Thap Tai, Amphoe Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It is the place where the largest Luang Pu Thuat statue in the world is enshrined. Originally, this temple was called Wat Huai Khot. In 1952, His Majesty the King visited and established the Royal Initiative Project. He gave a new name from "Wat Huai Khot" to "Wat Huai Mongkol". 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Below the statue of Luang Pu Thuat, there is a three-headed Erawan elephant sculpture. People travel to pay homage, make wishes, and throw coins into the mouth of Erawan. They also walk under the belly of Erawan according to their beliefs. The Erawan elephant is made from 9 types of wood: teak, rak, phayung, jackfruit, paduak, red wood, tengrak, takian wood, and sandalwood. Getting There - it is easy to reach with the motorbike or car from Hua Hin within 30min. The roads are very new and it is easy to find. It is easy to find a free parking space. From the parking area it is a 2 min wak to the Wat Hiay Mongkul and a 20min walk to the Golden Buddah along a beatiful lake. I recommend to drive there to safe your energy and to go all the way up Attractions - The main attraction is the Wat Huay Mongkul bit i personally prefer the Golden Biddah which is hidden behind it. He was born locally and is a must for all your temple visits, local attractions and information. His knowledge is just amazing. I would not visit a temple or a park with out him as he is kind friendly and made every minute of our tours interesting. Can not thank him enough. would be amazing with family or as an adult getaway. The Most Renowned Temple In Hua Hin, Thailand.

This is one of the best attractions to explore when you are in Hua Hin. It is very popular among thai tourists. If you want to go there during quite times i recommend you to go early in the morning. behind the statue there is a little pond where you can walk along and on the other side of the lake there is a big golden statue. We went there around 5pm and it was beatiful watching the sunset there. its one of the most famous temples in Hua Hin, apparently this is one of the famous monks in Thailand, lots of local tourists coming here to pray. really beautiful surrounding, if you walk a bit further, there is a pound then you will see this magnificent Buddhist temple. in the first glance, you wouldn’t notice there is another Buddhist temple behind, but there is a way behind mongkol. there are some small temples nearby, as well as snack shops and places to rest! overall, this is a great place to visit in Hua Hin, And there is one restaurant nearby where we had pad Thai and other traditional Thai food. it was a great day trip :)#staycation #temple#buddhism #passionpassport #gooutside

We visited Huay Mongkol temple when were on the way to Monsoon Vineyard. It has a enormous statue of monk. There are many locals and tourists as well came for prayers. The opposite of the statue has ome stores available if you want some foods and drinks. Recommend to try on the coconut ice cream. #wintergetaway #wintergetaway
