📍Geyser (p2) The geyser is amazing, erupting every 5-6 minutes. In short, it's just underground water boiling and erupting. My friends all said there was a strong smell of sulfur rotten eggs, unbearable stench. But I only smelled a little, maybe my nose isn’t as sensitive after having COVID. I stood there watching for half an hour, really amazed by the wonders of nature and reflecting on the life of the Earth. 📍Gullfoss Waterfall (p9) This is also the same waterfall featured in Game of Thrones! The view from below is better than from the upper viewing platform! It’s really cold! I even put on my gloves. Be sure to wear waterproof clothes because standing there, your face gets sprayed with water droplets. 📍Kerið (p12) A very famous volcanic crater lake, looks like an upside-down volcano. The rocks beside it are red, and the water in the lake is emerald green. When you walk down, you can hear echoes like in a sci-fi movie. There are also many large ice blocks on the ground (p13) that you can pick up for photos. Be careful when picking up ice blocks because the slope makes it easy to slip (I borrowed from someone nearby, hahaha).

#SeptemberTravelGrant I visited Crater Lake with my family, and it was a great choice for a family trip. The kids were amazed by the deep blue of the endless lake, and my husband and I had many conversations while driving along Rim Drive, admiring the lake. We stopped at observation points along the way to take photos, and no matter the angle, they made for a stunning photo. The view up close, especially along the Cleetwood Cove Trail, was breathtaking. It was fun just throwing small rocks into the lake, creating gentle ripples with the kids. Learning about the lake's history and geological formation at the National Park Interpretation Center was also fascinating. In the evening, the red sunset over the lake was a sight everyone in the family enjoyed in silence. Crater Lake was the perfect place to create memories with family in nature.

The greatest charm of Crater Lake lies in its 'pure, untouched natural beauty.' I visited early in the morning and witnessed the sun rising over the lake, accompanied by a light mist hovering above the water. At that moment, the lake shimmered with a mystical silver glow, and the absolute stillness of the water brought a sense of calm to my soul. Among the various viewpoints along Rim Drive, the scenery from Watchman Overlook was particularly breathtaking. The blue lake, distant mountain ranges, and the grandeur of the cliffs all came together in a single view, making me feel as though I had stepped into a painting. There are more than 30 viewing points along the drive around the lake, and you can choose your favorite to stop at. 🌟 Recommended hiking spots: Watchman Overlook: A beautiful panoramic view of the lake, where you can see Wizard Island (the small island in the lake). Cleetwood Cove: The only trailhead to the lake, suitable for hiking enthusiasts.
