2024 Global 50 - Hot Springs Attractions
Kusatsu Onsen, also known as "medicine out of soup", is famous for its beautiful environment and has been known as a hot spring for healing and fitness since ancient times. The natural outflow volume of Kusatsu Onsen is about 40,000 liters per minute, the highest in Japan. There is a "Yuta" in the Kusatsu Onsen Township Street, and the hot spring water that is steaming all year round flows continuously. Legend has it that Kusatsu Onsen was discovered by the mythical figure Takezun Japan and has been a popular health resort since ancient times. This is also one of the most acidic and high-temperature "time soup" in Japan, and the bathing method is unique - bathing with 100% spring water directly from the source. There is also a traditional activity in Kusatsu Onsen, which is to use long wooden boards to stir the spring water in the hot spring bath to achieve the purpose of mixing the medicinal elements in the hot spring evenly and lowering the temperature, which has become a symbol of the hot spring town. Kusatsu Onsen has a full range of general bathing facilities and hot spring hotels, restaurants, gift shopping, and restaurant facilities.

One of the Most Famous Hot Spring Resorts in Japan@Kusatsu Onsen
A small hot spring town🍂but so impressive that I had to go back again.
#Hot spring #100 ways to travel
🛕 Kusatsu Onsen The name of the onsen here may not be well-known to Thais, but if Japanese people ... it is considered a quality onsen source that is very famous.
🧩 Kusatsu onsen must travel to Gunma Prefecture. It is not difficult but not easy. It is an onsen with the largest amount of natural hot water in Japan. And the hot water is highly acidic. After soaking, the skin will be smooth.
🧊 This place stands out with a large hot spring. The gushing of hot water has become a symbol of the city. There is a wooden gutter called "Yubatake" that transports this natural hot water to the ryokan or public bathhouse in the city.
🍂 We like to come here in winter and at night wear a yukata with a coat. Come out and sit around the hot spring to find food at the supermarket or street food on the side of the road. The atmosphere here is really great.

Visiting Kusatsu Onsen in winter❄️ Is there actually a hot spring in the snow on the street? ! ♨️
Kusatsu Onsen is located in Gunma Prefecture and is considered one of the oldest hot springs in Japan with excellent water quality. Stroll through the alleys in the falling snow, feel the heat emanating from the hot springs, and completely relax your body and mind. Safe hotels may provide traditional yukata, so you might as well give it a try to blend into the Japanese cultural atmosphere. 🎎
At Kusatsu Onsen, in addition to enjoying the hot springs, you can also taste local delicacies such as udon noodles and hot spring boiled eggs. At night, bathing in an open-air hot spring under the stars is definitely an unforgettable experience. Winter here is a treasure land surrounded by warmth and beauty! 🌌🍜
In addition to hot springs and delicious food, there's a wealth of culture and history to explore. Visit local shrines and temples to experience the traditional Japanese religious atmosphere. In winter, the scenery around Kusatsu Onsen is picturesque, with snowflakes falling on ancient buildings and quiet lakes, as if you are in a winter landscape painting. Why not take a walk by the lake, enjoy the snow scenery, and listen to the sound of the wind blowing through the treetops, as if time has quietly stopped here. Find inner peace and tranquility in this peaceful place. 🏞️🛤️

Kusatsu Onsen: One of Japan's Top Three Hot Springs
Location: Kusatsu Town, Gunma Prefecture, Japan
Kusatsu Town is located in Gunma Prefecture in the Kanto region and is renowned for its hot spring resorts. 🏖️ Atmosphere/Facilities: In the town center, you'll find the Yubatake hot spring source, which is sometimes illuminated depending on the season. Surrounding it are four public baths and several foot baths where tourists can soak their feet and enjoy the rising steam from the hot spring water. Nearby, there is the traditional Goza no Yu bathhouse. Around Yubatake, there are many souvenir shops where you can enjoy street food and then relax in a foot bath to experience something out of the ordinary! To the west, the active volcano Mount Kusatsu-Shirane towers over the area, with a volcanic lake (Yugama) at its summit that features green acidic hot spring water. In the southwest, the Kazawa-Yunomaru Plateau is covered with azalea fields that bloom all at once during the season, creating a stunningly beautiful landscape!
Note: Public baths do not provide towels or soap, so be sure to bring your own face towel and bath towel.

[Gunma Prefecture] Kusatsu Onsen
Visited Kusatsu Onsenkyo. It's great that all the tourist attractions are within walking distance here.
It's deep in the mountains so access isn't great, but the best part is being able to enjoy the hot springs.
The hot springs never get cold. It seems that if you don't bathe in a hot spring every day, it doesn't have much effect, but it still feels really good, so I think it must be good for your body.

Who understands! I love it! Kusatsu Onsen is a great place to eat and shop
I fell in love with Kusatsu Onsen at first sight! Dusk is the best time to visit the steaming Yubatake! The air is filled with the strong smell of sulfur, and the nearby snacks and yakitori are full of fireworks!
Recommended snacks:
👉Seigetsudo Cafe Hanain
The signature matcha parfait and tiramisu are delicious
👉Kusatsu Onsen Pudding
A pudding shop with a long line, and it's really delicious! The packaging is also very cute, and you can get a coin back after returning the bottle
👉Matsumura Manju
Famous onsen manju! Freshly steamed and delicious, with a variety of fillings and a large filling
👉Yoritomo's sweet sake
Their signature sweet sake is sweet but not greasy, with a strong aroma of wine, and a cup in winter is super warm

[Gunma] Relax in Kusatsu Onsen and experience the history of Tomioka Silk Mill
#0yentripJanuary2025
Kusatsu Onsen was the best spot for healing ♨️. As I walked through the hot spring town, the steam from the hot springs rose along with the smell of sulfur, and I felt as if I had entered another world. While strolling around the Yubatake, I enjoyed a foot bath and hot spring eggs, and was able to refresh my mind and body. While soaking in the hot springs, it seemed like all the fatigue of the day melted away.
After that, we went to Tomioka Silk Mill. Here, we were able to learn about the historical buildings and their roles that supported Japan's industrial revolution 🏭. On the tour of the factory, we were able to actually see the old-fashioned machines and processes, and it was a valuable experience to touch on the importance of the silk industry and its development. The building itself was beautiful, and I could feel the atmosphere of the time, and I was able to spend a quiet time while learning about history.
Both the relaxation of Kusatsu Onsen and the history of Tomioka Silk Mill were wonderful experiences.

Winter in Kusatsu Onsen❄️The steam and snowy scenery will warm your body and soul
In winter, Kusatsu Onsen is attractive for its fantastic scenery of the hot spring town covered in snow and the steam rising from the hot springs✨.
Around the Yubatake, the contrast between the pure white snow and the glowing blue-white water is beautiful, while the scent of hot springs wafts through the air⛲️. Entering the open-air bath while watching the snowy scenery is an extremely relaxing experience🥰.
The pleasant contrast between the cold air and the warm water is a luxury that can only be experienced in winter! Don't forget to try the famous hot spring manju while strolling through the hot spring town🍡.
Why not spend a special time at Kusatsu Onsen, a place you'll want to visit especially in the cold winter?

Yubatake, the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen, offers a unique and captivating experience in the heart of Gunma Prefecture. This iconic hot spring field, where steaming hot water gushes out and flows through wooden channels, is a sight to behold, especially when illuminated at night. The sulfuric aroma and the sight of mineral deposits forming around the channels add to the authentic onsen atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the traditional “yumomi” performance, where locals stir the hot water with wooden paddles to cool it down, a practice that dates back to the Edo period. The surrounding area is filled with charming shops, cafes, and foot baths, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll. Located in Kusatsu Town, Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture, Yubatake is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the rich culture and therapeutic benefits of one of Japan’s most famous hot springs.

Take you to check in at the hot spring ♨️ Kusatsu Onsen ♨️
Take you to check in at the hot spring ♨️ Kusatsu Onsen ♨️
One of the 3 best hot spring towns in Japan 🇯🇵
#KusatsuOnsen is located in Gunma Prefecture. You can travel from #Tokyo, but the admin went from #Takasaki, which is also from Tokyo.
For friends who come to visit around Tokyo and want to soak in a comfortable hot spring, walk around and relax in the old city, and eat delicious food, you must stop by Kusatsu Onsen at least once.
This time, I would like to take you around #Yubatake, a landmark in the center of the city. The highlight is a large waterway that flows along a large wooden rail. Anyone who goes there must stop here first.
As for the hot spring that my friends in the gang used, I recommend
♨️ Otaki no yu, a traditional hot spring (last picture)
Admission fee ¥900, towel fee ¥250
Here, there are many pools to soak in, ranging from slightly hot to very hot.
But there are many hot springs to soak in. Unfortunately, I had little time this time and the wound from my back surgery had just healed, so I couldn't soak in the onsen here because they said it was good for the skin. But I did get to soak my feet, which was great! And most importantly, it was free! ☺️😉
🚌 Travel: (There are 2 sections)
Section 1
1. From JR Ueno Station, take the Limited Express train directly to Naganoharakusatsuguchi Station or
2. From JR Ueno Station, take the Shinkansen to JR Takasaki Station, then take a local train to Naganoharakusatsuguchi Station
Section 2
Take the bus (Stop 3 For Kusatu-Onsen) in front of the station to go to Kusatsu Onsen. Take the first line to the last line (bus station). It takes about 20 minutes.

♨️Let's go to Kusatsu Onzen!🇯🇵
How to get there - Take the train to Karuizawa and take the bus to the village
Tourist attractions - Kusatsu Onzen
Hotels - Kusatsu Onsen Ryokan Yoshinoya
Restaurants and food - BBQ restaurants in Kusatsu
Shopping - Karuizawa
Highlights - It is a famous Onzen tourist spot in Gunma Prefecture. There are many places to walk around the restaurants and there are shows. The more snow falls, the more beautiful it is. I like this place very much. It is worth staying. The accommodation is not far from Yubatake and the bus station. The room is spacious. There is an onsen in the accommodation. Separate for men and women, but the bathroom is shared. It is very clean and comfortable. I stayed in mid-February 2024. The weather was unstable. At first, there was no snow. But in the afternoon and evening, the snow fell non-stop. It fell until the windows were full of fluffy snow. I woke up in the morning and it was white. I like it very much. On the way back, I stopped by Kuruizawa outlet shopping and took the train back to Tokyo for about 1 hour.

Kusatsu Hot Springs, Gunma Prefecture
I went to Kusatsu (Kusatsu) Onsen, which is about 3 hours from Tokyo. As soon as I got there, the hot spring scent was so nice.
Even though I went in the summer, it was chilly because it was in the mountains.
If you go in the winter, I recommend dressing as warmly as possible!
I went with my boyfriend, but it seems like a great place for couples to go! ♥️#TokyoSuburbs #Couples #KusatsuOnsen

Kusatsu Onsen in Japan.
When it comes to hot springs in Japan, you can't miss the famous Kusatsu Onsen. It's a hot spring destination I've always wanted to visit. When I arrived, there was snow on the ground, and the cold weather made the hot spring atmosphere even more enjoyable. The steam and heat rising from the hot spring in the central plaza made me feel warm and cozy. It's also a great spot for taking photos. There are many small shops around selling various items and souvenirs, as well as many delicious eateries. It would be even better if you could soak in the hot springs. This place is perfect for a leisurely stroll and exploration.

《Shirahata no Yu》 《Chiyo no Yu》 《Jizo no Yu》@Kusatsu Onsen ♨️Free public hot springs
Kusatsu Onsen is one of the three most famous hot springs in Japan. In addition to soaking in the hot springs, there is also a unique landmark on the hot spring street. The spring water keeps gushing out, and white steam is flying all over the sky. If you get tired of walking, you can experience the foot bath.
This time I tried the foot bath at Nishi-no-Kawahara Park. It wasn't crowded and I could enjoy the beautiful scenery nearby.
In addition, there are many large and small public baths in the Kusatsu Onsen area that can be used for free. This time, we tried three of the larger public hot springs, Shirahata-no-Yu, Chiyo-no-Yu and Jizo-no-Yu. If you go at night, you can basically occupy the entire hot spring, which is a very interesting experience😎

First time staying at Kusatsu Onsen!
I have been to Japan many times! But I haven’t been to Kusatsu Onsen yet!
This time I booked a hot spring hotel on Trip.com, where I stayed and had two meals!
The personality ratio is very high! The service is also very good!
