The rest area at KM 241.63 was clean, quiet, and had all the essentials: ✅ Well-kept restrooms 🕌 A surau for prayers 🛍️ Small stalls for drinks and snacks 🅿️ Plenty of parking 🕒 Open 24/7 — perfect for any time of day After stretching our legs and refueling (ourselves, not the car!), we continued the drive feeling refreshed. Friendly and welcoming staff with wallet friendly prices worth the portion. Tucked away in tambun area is a jewel waiting to be explored. Food taste good and fresh. This place is kids friendly with tables to fit 4 or more. My personal fav here is the lemon soda expresso. We had mushroom sandwich, chicken chop and a few more. Thorong Hot Springs in Perak, Malaysia ♨️ Even in hot Malaysia, I still want to take a hot spring bath. I want to get rid of toxins by taking a bath in a hot spring! There is a hot spring spot where the source water is constantly bubbling away! It's completely different from Japanese hot springs (lol) It's like a pool. There are several pools, each with a different temperature, so you can take a bath in the pool with the temperature you like. Pools are nice, but my goal is a foot bath ♨️ I put the source water directly into a bucket with a hose and dip my feet in 💦 But... I can't do that. It's just the source water, so I'll get burned. I have to wait for the water in the bucket to cool down, or I can add water... But I feel it's a waste to dilute the source water with water, so I just put my feet in little by little to get used to it. I've even burned myself a few times (lol) You can add or replace the hot spring water in the foot bath as many times as you like, so you can bathe until you're satisfied. It's free. And, for an additional fee, there is a private bathtub🛁, so it's a recommended hot spring even when you want to take a good bath. It seems to have some good effects, and on the day you bathe, you can sleep better than usual💤 Your skin will also feel a little smoother. If you want to hydrate, they will pick coconuts from the garden here and sell them to you. The fresh coconut water will seep into your body. It's a spot only known by locals, but word of mouth seems to be attracting more tourists. It was former historical bank that turned out to be cozy bookstore that located in Kong Heng Square which once was the busiest banks in 1980's. Dont forget to go into the basement. There you can see the original vault doors and safety deposit boxes that have been converted into bookshelves! The lane is abit narrow and obviously it's will be very crowded if there a lot of people. The lane is sheltered so make sure you take an umbrella and some sunscreen before you go out to explore them on day time! The street literally comes to life during the weekends and more crowded! If you happen to come to Concubine Lane at night, the glow of the red lanterns will make it seem like you are in a red-light district! Concubine Lane is open every day and it isn’t hard to find. Me and my family went to Taman Matahari last saturday, 13th November 2021:The were so excited and curious to get there.The ticket price for adult was RM 13 and for kids have two price RM 3 and not sure the another price for kids.The surrounding was amazing.So many hotspot to take photoshoot like sunflower, talapia pond, bridge, birds nest and many others.There are many public amenities provided like cafetaria, gift shop, nursery and flower shop, toilet, big parking area and surau for prayer. So, we can get easy moment to bring our family here. Just had an amazing getaway to Taiping, Perak and honestly, it exceeded all expectations! ✨ Stayed at Flemington Hotel Taiping, and this was seriously one of the best choices for a relaxing stay. The location is amazing, right beside Taiping Lake Gardens. Waking up to the peaceful lake view from the room felt so calming. Even better, they provide free breakfast, making the stay even more worth it. The highlight? Their rooftop swimming pool! 🏊♀️ The view from up there is absolutely eye-soothing, overlooking the beautiful green hills of Taiping. I’ve always known Ho Yan Hor herbal tea as something our parents and grandparents drink whenever they “heatiness” hits, but stepping into this museum made me realise how much history, effort, and innovation were behind this iconic Malaysian brand. The museum itself is located in an old restored shophouse, and once you step inside, it truly feels like traveling through time. The tour brings you room to room, each section telling a different chapter of Dr. Ho Kai Cheong’s life — the founder who started brewing herbal tea from his home kitchen in 1941. I really enjoyed how immersive it was: original furniture, old medical tools, handwritten notes, vintage packaging, and even the early machinery used to process herbs were displayed so neatly. Every room had its own vibe, and the storytelling was very easy to follow. One of my favourite parts was learning how Dr. Ho would cycle around town to sell the tea during the war years. Imagine how tough life was back then, yet he persisted and eventually created a product that became a staple in almost every Malaysian household. The museum also showcases how the brand evolved from simple herbal packets to today’s modern instant teas. It made me appreciate so much more the cup of Ho Yan Hor I grew up drinking. There’s also a tasting section where you can try different blends — the original, the gold version, and even newer cooling recipes. After walking through all the rooms, sipping the tea felt extra meaningful because now I understood the story behind it. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and they made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. If you’re planning an Ipoh trip, especially during the fall season when the weather is great for walking around town, I definitely recommend booking your museum slot beforehand because weekends get crowded. It’s a short visit, but incredibly rich in culture, history, and nostalgia. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates Malaysian heritage.

As I stepped inside, the cool air and natural rock formations immediately caught my attention. The limestone walls have a raw beauty, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a great place to slow down and just take in nature. Some parts of the cave are lit, but much of it still feels untouched, giving a sense of mystery and adventure. I enjoyed wandering around, noticing the different shapes of the rocks and the way light plays through the openings. It is not a crowded spot, so the quiet adds to the experience. Gua Wu Ji Ngam is perfect for those who enjoy exploring lesser known places with natural charm.
