The fine sand beaches are seemingly deserted during weekdays and the warm water is a pleasure to swim in for hours. There is a huge variety of fish swimming around the shallow water near to the granite outcrops found at the ends of all the beaches. Of course they can be found near the piers but beware of boats operated by fisherman and tours to the harder reach small islands! The visibility is not so good in the deeper or unsheltered water because of currents, so do not swim too far from shore. There is much to see besides the beaches. The Lin Je Kong Temple is one place but it is also on the way to one of the best hidden beaches Coral Bay about 15 hike along the rocks near the water. There is an old Dutch fort, a turtle breeding center, the Masjid Al-Badr mosque situated on the sea, Fi Lin Kong Temple, shopping in Pangkor (Blue eyes Paradise Center) and a nighttime good stall market. I recommend renting a motorcycle while on the island to drive around and see the many different beaches and to get to some local restaurants. There are lots of areas to stay but if you are coming for the beach it is always nice to walk just a few minutes for a swim. They serve as a metaphorical escape into nature for Ipoh residents. What I appreciate most is the "time displacement" feeling of transitioning from the urban core to the coastline. In the mining town, you savor sugar-laden ice treats and coffee powder, and just beyond a hill lies the rhythmic whispers of the seaside. Teluk Nipah's gentle waves create a space for dialogue with the sea rather than conquest, while Pasir Panjang's panoramic views help recalibrate one's perspective on life amidst nature. These beaches are not mere extensions of Ipoh but rather a broader expression of the city's land. They teach us that the sea is not a distant landscape but a liberating breath that can only be truly felt after returning from the centrifugal pull of urban life.

We spent a few peaceful days on Pangkor Island and it quickly became one of our favorite short getaways. The beaches, especially Nipah and Coral Bay, were quiet and clean, perfect for just laying back or taking a dip in the calm sea. We rented a motorbike and rode around the island, stopping at little roadside stalls, temples, and scenic viewpoints we loved how compact and easy it was to explore. One of the highlights for us was visiting the Dutch Fort ruins and the nearby fishing villages, where we got a feel for the island’s slower, more traditional rhythm. We also tried fresh seafood at some local warungs it was simple, affordable, and incredibly good. Pangkor doesn’t try to impress with flash, but that’s exactly what makes it so easy to enjoy. It felt like a place where we could just switch off and take things slow.

An unexpected trip to PULAU PANGKOR, SITIAWAN from Marina Island... We a group of 6 friend and family go to Sitiawan 2 days 1 night. We book at D'Sea Marina by Manhattan Group. Because too early to reach the Homestay so we have a walk at Marina Island that just few walk from D'Sea Marina by Manhattan Group. So found out that now if we go to PULAU PANGKOR from Marina Island just take 10 minutes and cost RM20 per person for two way. So we plan to go on next day after check out. We go on the next day for day trip to PULAU PANGKOR at 9:45am ferry to and back at 3:00pm. The ferry time is very sharp. It's really just 10 minutes to reach there. Reach there we book a car just cost us RM90 only. So we just drive follow the map given.. First stop we have our breakfast for a local noodles... It's taste really good.. Then we continue to drive to others attraction place.. Remember if we didn't overnight cannot buy duty free chocolate ya.. It will tax us. My daughter had buy few but 1 is open and the custom just let me go without tax. But she had mention that we cannot buy if no overnight. But luckily I had keep the receipt and just buy around RM20 only.. So we end this trip from PULAU PANGKOR at 3pm.. Enjoyable and unexpected trip. Unplanned trip to Perak, Malaysia brought usto Pangkor Island. Went there thru Marina Jetty which is 10 minutes distance by ferry with ticket fees at MYR10 for adult & MYR 5.50 for kid. We spend MYR 71.00 for 2 ways. Arrived at Pangkor Island and we book a car for our convenienve there to travel to each destination. We drive to Teluk Nipah, a lots of attraction & sports activities there from ATV, Banana Boat etc. Lots of food stalls along the beach. We went to Kota Belanda, shopping chocolate at duty free zone, blue eyes anchovy which is famous there & other delicacies... as we didn't stay there more than 24hours, the chocolate is subject to 10% tax.
