Detailed itinerary for a half-day tour of St. George, the capital of Grenada
We arrived in Grenada, the "Spice Island" of the Caribbean, by cruise ship. Its capital, St. George, is also known as the "Rainbow City." It rained a dozen times in the few hours we were ashore, and rainbows did indeed frequently appear amidst the alternating sunshine and rain.
However, it's still the dry season, so the downpours came and went quickly, not significantly affecting our trip. We brought an umbrella, occasionally taking shelter under eaves, and managed to explore the horseshoe-shaped bay. We even had an unexpected "reward"—an elderly man on a hilltop offered us a large bag of nutmeg (picture 13; of course, we couldn't accept it, politely declining, taking only one as a sign of respect and a souvenir 🌰). Nutmeg is one of Grenada's economic lifelines, featured on the flag 🇬🇩, but two hurricanes in the past 20 years have nearly devastated the crop, making it expensive in the market, and even more so in tourist areas where two nuts cost a dollar. Yuan
However, overall prices here are not high for the Caribbean region.

🔶 The loop is not long (about 10,000 steps), but involves a lot of uphill climbing. The weather is hot and humid, so it can be tiring. If you're not in good physical condition, you can just do the shorter loop. The city takes about two hours. If you have enough time, you can go to Great Anse Beach for sunbathing and swimming.
If you have even more time, consider hiring a car to visit the rainforest waterfalls.
